The problem isn't what Matt Nagy/Bill Lazor call. Or how they game plan, etc.

It's the simple fact that they have been unable to coach the players to a level where they can execute whatever the play call may be.

That's the argument for firing them and it's a strong one.

My point is: blame the media for not reporting it, not the team.

If he wasn't going to be missing time, there would be nothing to report. It isn't the 49ers job to provide information about this, it's the media's. Not disclosing it before absolutely necessary isn't a cover up.

Seems like they only told us last minute before camp because they had to since they couldn't explain his absence. How often does this stuff happen and get covered up?

@Tonysmarkettips It isn't their job to provide information until it is necessary IF it ends up being necessary. In this case, it was necessary because their coach was going to be MIA. Media relations, not reporters.

Media members knew something was up and didn't bother to dig. That's the problem

Per @ProFootballTalk Tim Kawakami knew of the crash, but said he didn't know the details. Those details were publicly available. Either he didn't know how to get the details or didn't want to. Either way, his bosses should not be happy.

BTW Sean Payton hired Morgan and just promoted him this offseason.

The Bears replaced 4 starters from 2024 to 2025, seems like that *might* be part of the reason the OL improved.
