The lady on the left is Ada; the lady on the right is Ruth. As their namesake, I’ve got some big shoes to fill and will take the things they taught me to heart in doing so. I’m glad that you both are out of pain and can only imagine the party y’all are having in heaven. Ilysm. 💗

She’s a mermaid - a fictional culture that was completely made up by Disney. So why are you really mad?

Thank you, Disney, for reassuring all of the girls out there, regardless of skin tone, that they can be whatever princess they want to be.

[Ada Ruth Huntley @adaruth_101]

let me tell y’all a story..

As a little girl, Ariel was ALWAYS my favorite princess. I loved her bravery and her heart for adventure and her strong-willed nature. I loved everything about her beautiful story and who she was and wanted to be her when I grew up..

[The Hollywood Reporter @THR]

Singer-actress Halle Bailey – part of the R&B duo Chloe x Halle – has nabbed the starring role of Ariel in #Disney's live-action remake of #TheLittleMermaid https://t.co/jDkrGWsYft

[Ada Ruth Huntley @adaruth_101]

It’s very different from Mulan or Pocahontas or even Tiana whose race and culture have everything to do with tho they are as princesses. But really take a moment and think about this - what does Ariel’s race have to do with her character or her story?
