Students with ADHD benefit from chucked or segmented learning and class work. Breaking the teaching and class work up into manageable timed segments help with focus and engagement. Students have control of their timer and enjoy their brain break in between.

@RutgersAltRoute A5:the best thing to do is be vigilant with looking for and addressing known acts of bullying. Make sure the students know they are safe and cared for. Repeat that there is zero tolerance and that there are always staff they can talk to who will always take them seriously.

@RutgersAltRoute A4: HIB issues are extremely damaging to students' wellbeing which has a direct correlation to their engagement in academics. This has a significant impact on their learning and success in their education. Attendance and participation can be effected.

I want to ensure that all students feel safe and comfortable in their school environment. I start the year off, and then continue to reiterate and support, very clear expectations of citizenship and respectful responsibility towards relationships at school. Zero tolerance

@RutgersAltRoute We provided parents direction and access to Google classroom (through stude ts chromebooks) and the Google homework cale dar. This way they have exposure to what their child is working on as well as their HW and assignments. We also frequently communicate through email.
