As an Australian, I think it's the prime minister of Canada, Mark Carney, who is showing the world the reality of what Trump is doing. He tried to work with Trump; he tried to have a good relationship with Trump, and he did because it's better for Canada. But he realizes that it doesn't work. You can't appease a bully. There will be a cost for countries that oppose Trump, but there is a bigger cost for not.

Canada played a major part in the US’ growth in the twentieth century too. Don’t forget that. It’s one of history’s most mutually beneficial relationships.

The strategy isn’t outdated. CUSMA was the updated strategy, which we all agreed to.

This is just needless friction that jeopardizes the growth of both countries.

Also, we didn’t run into China’s arms. We walked back several friction points with them, but we’re certainly not best friends. Major distinction there that you’ve gotten completely wrong.
