the nft space is really helping me to heal the wounds i have around friendship, community and wealth. i’m so proud of my growth and i know I’m not the only one that’s out here growing. it feels good to know I’m not alone and to be uplifted in the process 😭❤️
One of the things that Art benefits from is sustained attention, remembering things that happened more than a week ago, and thoughtful discourse (not just PR, like actually talking about it), which are admittedly all hard to achieve if these temporal-scrolling platforms
There are so many big ideas floating around that it's easy to get caught up and excited by things like new DAOs, cool contract mechanisms, airdrops, protocols. I think that stuff is cool too.
I'm just beginning to understand how much my art is going to evolve now that I have funds to invest back into.
For years I've been conditioned in the beauty & fashion industries to put out my best work for no compensation. The days of losing money over free work are over 😭🙏🏼
Does the PFP craze have any cultural significance for Black people? We’d argue yes, for the simple fact that it’s making NFTs mainstream. But everyone we talk to is thinking revolution.
The next thought is, if this PFP wave is furthering the revolution, then how do Black artists come together and create collections with impact and a visual intonation that speaks DIRECTLY to Black people.
