I'm sorry that it makes you uncomfortable but creating familiarity is pinoy human nature. We literally call everyone nay at tay, ate at kuya, and tito at tita in the streets. there are other things that make me more uncomfortable such when others normalize calling a woman who wants to be president "ambisyosa" or people creating rivalry among women leaders when there should be sisterhood instead. baka masyado nang naging normal yung adversarial relationships and oneupmanship sa politics natin that we look at friendliness, warmth, collegiality, and cooperation as cringe.
