A few days ago I went searching for Cirl Buntings at Dawlish Warren Nature Reserve. I had never so much as seen one, let alone photograph one, but finally I was rewarded with a beautiful male. @BBCSpringwatch

@CarlBovisNature I have seen Grass Snakes occasionally whilst fishing over the years, however after photographing an infant swimming at Ham Wall, this was the only the second grass snake I’d ever photographed. An adult, taken at your local haunt, RSPB Greylake last year!

@RSPBNewport This morning I enjoyed a lovely ‘Bittern & Cuckoo’ organised walk around the reserve with our fantastic guides, Jeremy & Rosie. We heard a cuckoo, but then the best moment came when we saw a bittern in flight at close quarters. What an amazing moment!! Thank you!!
