The bitter truth:
You don’t solve this with statements, meetings and hope.
You need a 3–6 month kinetic shock operation to break momentum.
Then a 3-year structural rebuild to fix the roots.
Anything less is PR.
Nigeria’s security crisis isn’t random. It’s engineered by 4 engines working together.
-A neglected generation with no structure or opportunity
-Criminals hijacking mineral belts
-Kidnapping evolving into a national business model
-External actors exploiting chaos for profit
Interesting move between France and Nigeria, France needs continued access to West Africa and has decided to work the most dominant country in West Africa.
It should be mutually beneficial, but Nigeria must operate from a position of Strength and demand France to play fair.
@OpeBee Peter Obi unravelling is almost complete, He might not likely be on the ballot box in 2027, no other southern has any serious shot in 2027, unless Former President Jonathan shows up for his likely last term.
Asides this, It is between PBAT and anything the North comes up with.
@OpeBee Generally tough for most countries in 2024, the degree of impact only varied based on local peculiarities which we have always talked about.
The global economic outlook for 2025 looks more favourable which should dovetail to Nigeria, there will be more access to needed funds.
@OpeBee@NIrorere80559 It is really a crawling out, we need to stop looking at everything from a localised perspective while the world is getting globalised.
A global recession is in the calling, it is just a matter of how soon it will be blowing out.
@OpeBee The Govt of PBAt has it FX strategy well thought out now, both Fiscal and Monetary with likely different scenarios play in place.
The Nine months window given to bring FX deposits outside the banking system will play out before there might be a major revaluation of the NGN.
@OpeBee The buck of the blame should be on the National Economic Council Members and the Coordinating Minister of the Economy.
The quality of their engagements , the outcomes and the implementation of decisions reached in their meetings is in serious doubt. NEC needs to do much better.
@iam_atomicity @OpeBee I want to believe the current devaluation is now being used a fiscal tool by the government to manage debts and increase spending in NGN.
This is good in the short term to meet short term economic needs but must be balanced with growth in local production capacity.
@OpeBee Interestingly the government is busy spending monies accrued from current devaluation of the Nigerian Naira.
Massive amount of Naira available to play with but it is being utilised more into consumption than production, albeit this can be channelled into Agriculture.

@OpeBee No market forces now for PMS💯
The major impact of full deregulation
should be primarily on cost of transportation.
FEC has to work a way out to subsidise transportation across the Nation along with the CNG initiatives before deregulation.
Implement minimum wages etc.
@OpeBee Covid 19 and its aftermath effects which affected virtually all countries at varing degrees brought a new twist which the economic sagacity of his team didn’t quite grabbed well.
In infrastructure, He was second to none.
Overall it was an average contribution and not a failure
@OpeBee The FG through the SEC and CBN should be a regulator as you mentioned and stimulate the private sector to drive it.
The target market should be outside the shores of Nigeria with a caveat not available in Nigeria market.
It can denominated in USD, GBP, EUR and probably CNY.
