There are many in need of care signifucantly outnumbering those who can help. It’s time for the government and NHS to take action now to support a #ageing population in the UK. Image taken from : https://t.co/SyhD2gMxAR #B329LeadershipChallenge#OUB329
The WHO suggests by 2050 the global number of people 60+ will almost double from 12 to 24%. With the NHS under resourced and the number of older people increasing (who have more healthcare needs) the NHS needs more support than ever from the #OUB329

Additional titles for leadership challenge 1 national health service: does the NHS need our care instead? 2 ageing population a challenge for the healthcare system 3 ageing population a radical change for the healthcare system #B329LeadershipChallenge
My tutor group is looking for feedback on our leadership title. 1. Can National Health Service help us when we need it? 2. Ageing population: the future of healthcare. Focus of challenge is on ageing population and effects on NHS. #B329LeadershipChallenge
Reading about storytelling reframing a discourse has allowed me to reflect on how I usually form opinions about particular issues in society and has allowed me to think about how important it is to consider the people the issue affects and impacts them personally #OUB329 wk17
This week I have learned the importance that storytelling has on reframing a discourse. In particular watching Jose’s story allowed me to see how reframing a discourse in practice can offer a new perspective on an issue than if I had just read a more general article #OUB329 wk17
Reflecting on how key stakeholders might react to decisions made by my organisation has allowed me to think about ways we could respond to the stakeholders which would result in more agonistic responses which could help reduce more aggressive forms of conflict #OUB329 wk16
This week I have learned the importance conflict can have within democratic practice. Mouffes definition of agonism and antagonism has helped me reflect on how activist groups have acted based on the decisions my organisation has made. #OUB329 wk16
#wickedchallenges are complex and have not been solved before. This is important for the #B329LeadershipChallenge because it gives us the opportunity to work in groups and look for solutions to help solve a problem/issue by developing a call to action #OUB329 wk14
I found Fleming and Spicer’s power framework useful to understand how likely forms of power can be resisted and each one ranges in the type of action people may take. However the framework doesn’t note when these behaviours may cross over when used by people #OUB329 wk15
Reviewing Collinson and Ackroyd forms of resistance allowed me to reflect on the different forms of resistance I have experienced in my work and personal life. I found this activity interesting and noted a lot of my examples lay in the ‘dissent’ side of the continuum #OUB329 wk15

In this week’s study I’ve learned the importance of re-visiting the vision to enable practical decision making through collaborative working to achieve a positive sum game for the common good. I’m going to try this in my workplace as often the vision is not reviewed #OuB329 wk12
This week I have learned that when considering game theory leaders have different approaches as to whether they are working towards positive, negative or zero sum games #OUB329 wk 12
For leaders, I have learned that responding to conflict can be challenging as they not only have to consider an emotive response but also the wider impact their response will have on the organisation as a whole to deal with the wide range of conflict they may receive #OUB329 wk11
This week I have learned that people’s experiences of different situations affects their actions and responses towards conflict. This causes people to respond through a variety of emotions #OUB329 wk 11
