Dr. Zach Bush shares a mind-blowing nature insight: Birdsongs in each region have evolved to interact with tree pores (stomata), helping them open to breathe more oxygen and COโโkickstarting the life cycle.
Historical / science nugget: Studies on plant bioacoustics (e.g., from Yeungnam University and others) show sound vibrationsโlike birdsong or "green music"โcan influence stomata opening, boost nutrient/water uptake, and enhance growth by triggering molecular changes in plants. While not every regional birdsong is proven to "perfectly match" local trees, vibrations from natural sounds act as a gentle signal for better respiration and vitality.
Bush extends it to us: Nature's sounds and beauty do the same for the human bodyโup-leveling metabolism, energy, and resilience no matter diet or toxins around you.
Get outside aggressivelyโlisten to the birds, feel the shift. Nature is the ultimate viral healer.
What's your favorite way nature "turns you back on"โbirdsong, ocean waves, forest walks?
This is Shelley, Stanโs daughter. We wanted to let all you wonderful followers and friends know that Dad passed peacefully on November 4th. Thank you to all of you bringing him so much joy as he shared his little slice of bliss here in NL. Much love from Marlene & me
@stan_sdcollins I will miss your Dad. I felt a warm affection for him and a sense of awe when he posted something spectacularly beautiful, especially of the ocean by a windswept beach. His posts of meals with homemade biscuits and Jersey, were endearing. RIP๐ and deepest sympathies. ๐๐บ๐
As we mourn the loss of Dr. Jane Goodall, we also celebrate the trails she blazed. She broke barriers to show us anyone can be a scientist, that everyone can grow up to help protect wildlife, people, and the planet. She was a true hero!
We were lucky enough to interview Dr. Goodall during the height of the pandemic. We think you'll enjoy this clip and can watch the full video on Youtube: https://t.co/Fpn3C3iy3G
