I haven’t tweeted in months but here’s yet another one of my neighbors struggling up our hill on a street that hasn’t been plowed since last Wednesday in the middle of Alaska’s largest city.

@5thGenAK I’m not sure why you’re assuming that’s their driveway. And whether you have sympathy isn’t my concern. That’s a municipal street that’s gone unplowed for over a week and many people in Anchorage don’t have trucks or SUVs or winter tires.

It’s Friday. It last snowed substantially on Monday. The rest of the streets in my neighborhood look the same, and there’s an elementary school two blocks away with no clear sidewalks.

What is going on here?

We’re sector 23. Entirely residential, save for a few blocks. I may be wrong but all of the other untouched sectors seem to be entirely industrial to me, and so likely have private contractors plowing (not sure about 19 and 47).
