Most people only know Temu and Shein.
But I know three platforms you can order from at very cheap prices.

They're platforms where Chinese people actually shop on, so things are way cheaper there because you're buying directly from the producers. Even Temu gets its goods from some of these platforms.

Likewise, a lot of "mini importers" in Nigeria use these websites. All those WhatsApp and Facebook vendors you see around, they get their goods from these websites at very low prices, then they inflate the prices when they want to resell.

Best for clothes, shoes, bags, phone accessories, electronics, home appliances, and just about anything in bulk.

They offer wholesale prices, but you may need to make bulk orders (10 to 100+ units). It's best for people who want to resell. The language on this website is Chinese, so you'll have to translate it. The video below explains how.

2.▫️Taobao

Best for fashion, jewelry, home decor, gadgets, and niche items you can't easily find elsewhere.

They sell single items easily, have a huge variety, and even better quality than what gets imported to Temu. It's good for both individuals and resellers.

3.▫️Pinduoduo

Best for everyday items, kitchenware, phone accessories, small gadgets, and household basics.

This is similar to Taobao, and often even cheaper. It's a great place for everyday buys.

Also, none of these websites ship internationally. You'll need a shipping agent to receive your order in China and forward it to you. It's also best to order in bulk.

To use a shipping agent:
1. Create an agent account on any of the agent website I'll share in the comments.
2. Paste the product link from 1688, Taobao, or PDD into their search bar.
2. The agent buys it and receives it at their warehouse.

3. Agent ships to you, sometimes combining items to save cost.

Just make sure to always read the descriptions. Sort by best-selling, read reviews and check the photos shared by reviewers instead of relying on product pictures.

When I was growing up in the village, I had a farm

In fact, it was very normal for children like me to own farms

At the age of 13, I already had a farm where I planted yam

My mother had her own farm where she planted cassava

and agugu. (I don't know the English name for agugu, but it looks like beans, much smaller, darker, and very hard like stone)

In fact, it was very rare to find a family where every member did not have a farm

Just as the father had his farm,

The mother had hers

And each of the children also had their own

Most times, the father's farm was the biggest,

followed by the mother's farm, and then the children's

In my home, we don't always buy food from the market

I supplied yam from my own yam farm

My mother supplied us with elubo and fufu from her cassava farm

And whenever it was time to eat protein,

she also supplied us with 'agugu'

Even pepper was not something we bought

At the back of our house were pepper plants and tomato plants that we plucked from, anytime we wanted to cook

We also had palm trees from which we produced our own palm oil

We were taught that to be successful, you needed two things:

A house and a car

You needed a job where you did not have to dress dirty

A job where you wore a fine tucked-in shirt on a well-ironed pair of trousers,a beautiful tie, and a suit

Little by little, our orientation changed

And to make matters worse, some of our uncles started leaving the village and abandoning farm life for the city

Few years later, they would return home with cars and build houses, with their fine shirt and suit

So we started thinking that maybe this life was better than the village farming life

Gradually, we began creating a new reality for ourselves

The reality of

Go to school

Get a job

Build a house

Buy a car

Many of us bought into this reality

We all went to school

We left the farms

We left the yam

We left the cassava

We left the 'agugu'

The palm oil

We left the beautiful pepper and tomatoes

But unfortunately, because everyone was chasing the same dream, the jobs became saturated.

There were simply not enough jobs to go around.

So millions of young people became stranded, asking:

"Where is the job?"
"Where is the car?"
"Where is the house?"

"Where is the good life we were promised?"

Before we realized what was happening, it was already too late

The ripple effects of abandoning our farms and crops eventually caught up with us

Today, many of us are highly and hungrically educated, hunger dey

Now we are ashamed to go back to the villages we once left behind

The parents we abandoned farming for have grown old

They can no longer work the land as they once did

Now, instead of feeding themselves from the farm,

they now depended on us to send money from the city so they can buy food

Meanwhile, we continue working tirelessly,

chasing the same old dream of a car and a house

We abandoned our beautiful habitat, a place where we once had almost everything we needed

The oyinbo dream deceived many of us

Today, some people have the car

Some have the house

But they do not have food

While millions more have neither the car nor the house nor the food

They live from hand to mouth, still hoping that one day the old dream will finally come true

Sadly, the very life we abandoned was the life that gave us food, peace, and security

Every time an FRSC officer pulls you over, the first instinct of many Nigerian drivers is to reach into their pocket — ₦50,000 here, ₦100,000 there — just to "sort it out."

That money does not go to the government.

That is corrüptioñ, plain and simple.

The truth is, traffic offences in Nigeria carry fixed, regulated fines — and most of them are far lower than what roadside "settlements" cost you.

LOWER-RANGE OFFENCES
🥢 Not wearing a seat belt — ₦2,000
🥢 Traffic light/road sign violation — ₦2,000
🥢 Road obstruction — ₦3,000
🥢 Vehicle licence violation — ₦3,000
🥢 Vehicle number plate violation — ₦3,000

MID-RANGE OFFENCES

So the next time you are stopped, do not panic and do not negotiate.

Ask: "What offence did I commit?" Then ask for the official Notice of Offence Sheet.

Pay the correct fine through the proper channel.

Keep your receipt.
Knowing the law is your first line of defence — against both accidents and extortion.
