Is washing and setting no longer a thing?

I’ve been looking for where to wash and set my hair but the hairstylists here are saying they don’t do such.

My stepmom recommended that for me, since braiding my fine textured hair breaks it more than it helps.😮‍💨

I submitted my MBA thesis.
