Fascinating.
Messi earns around $1.5 million *per week* from football + football-related commercial deals.
Who do you think builds the stadiums he plays in? Makes the kits he sells? Mans the cameras which broadcast his "product" to the world? Cleans the dressing room he changes in? Makes the food supporters buy in the stadium? Brews the beer fans buy in the stadium? Sells the beer fans buy in the stadium? Cuts the grass he plays on? Makes the boots he wears and the millions of replica boots he sells?
All of these people's labour goes into making him $1.5 million a week.
What do you think the ratio of his weekly earnings is to those people? He earns around $80 million a year from football alone which is approximately 5 times the average top 500 US CEO so by your logic he is FAR more "exploitative" than they are.
The fact that you don't understand this proves my original point perfectly. Thank you for your help.
HYPOCRISY 🚨 Taylor Swift has a net worth of $2 billion dollars.
Swift is shutting down numerous streets in New York & costing NYC tax payers over $160,000 to "protect" her wedding at Madison Square Garden.
Where are the "anti billionaire" leftists protesting her wealth? Protesting her stupid wedding? Protesting her oligarchy?
Rules for thee but not for me. If this was a Republican there would be numerous headlines, leftists "protesting" it would be called a Nazi wedding.
Look, you’re not allowed to set your AC too low, but a homeless guy on the subway is allowed to stab you.
Those are the rules. The former is anti social behavior and the latter is social justice.
“Democratic Socialism” is exactly how Hugo Chavez described his form of Government he installed in Venezuela. The oil rich Country would use the profits from oil to pay for all the new welfare programs. When the price of a barrel was high the people for a brief moment enjoyed their new financial gains purchasing luxury goods they couldn’t afford before, UNTIL Chavez began banning them from buying things he deemed unnecessary. Oil output began to slow when the “Socialist Government” fired thousands of technicians and replaced them with those that had no experience BUT were loyal to Chavez. When the price of oil tanked the Venezuelan economy crashed. The “Democratic Socialist” delivered to their Citizens inflation that reached over 800%, Caracas became the murder Capitol of the World and food became scarce. Margret Thatcher said it best “AND SOCIALIST GOVERNMENTS TRADITIONALLY DO MAKE A FINANCIAL MESS. THEY ALWAYS RUN OUT OF OTHER PEOPLES MONEY”.
Did you know that The Lord of the Rings was about communism?
(Maybe when you come from Poland, every evil looks like communism to you…:)
1. The Ring is not a weapon. It is the totalitarian temptation itself – the promise that this time, the right person wielding absolute power will finally produce the good outcome. Even heroes in the book are tempted by this argument. Gandalf refuses it, Aragorn refuses it, but it is the most seductive argument in politics. It is always wrong.
2. The Shire is where the story begins and where it must return. Hobbits grow their own food, smoke their own pipe-weed, own their gardens, and nobody tells them what a second breakfast should look like. This is not naivety – it is civilization at its most honest. Which is precisely why the system cannot leave it alone.
3. The Eye sees everything – not because it is omnipotent, but because enough servants are watching on its behalf. The Nazgûl are the secret police: former kings, once free and powerful, who accepted rings of power and became hollow enforcers. They did not fall suddenly. Each one made a reasonable accommodation, then another, until nothing remained inside the armor. The surveillance state does not need cameras everywhere. It needs people who have already sold themselves, and have nothing left to lose by selling others.
4. Saruman is the most sinister villain in the book – the brilliant intellectual who studied power so long and so closely that he decided he might as well have some. The collaborator. The man who convinced himself that managing the evil was smarter than opposing it, and ended up running a small franchise of it in the Shire.
5. The Shire gets collectivized. This is the chapter Western readers most want to skip – because it means that ignoring the darkness while it was distant did not protect the things that were close and dear. It came home anyway, wearing the face of bureaucratic administration: no private gardens, no excess, enforced sharing, small men with clipboards and new rules. Sharkey — the defeated Saruman — cannot create anything anymore. He can only administrate, regulate, and ruin. This is what the system looks like when it has already lost everywhere else.
6. Gollum is what the system produces when it finds someone useful. He serves the Ring completely, calls it his precious, and has long since forgotten what he was before it. He is not evil – he is consumed. The system doesn’t need to destroy you. It just needs you to need it more than you need yourself.
7. The Ring must be destroyed, not used. Not reformed, not redirected, not wielded by a better person for better ends. This is Tolkien’s most radical political statement: some instruments of total power cannot be turned to good purposes. They must be unmade. Every generation has to rediscover this, because the argument for just one more ring, in the right hands, for the right reasons, never stops sounding reasonable to some people…
Russia repeatedly targets and bombs Ukrainian civilians and civilian infrastructure and has done so for more than four years.
Where are the university and street protests?
Why does the UN not condemn them?
Where are the calls for a free Ukraine?
Why are there no Queers for Ukraine?
The Palestinians broke a ceasefire to invade Israel, murder absolutely everyone they could find, apart from the odd person (including babies and pensioners) they seized as captives to torture and later execute in tunnels. Oh and the women they raped, many of whom they then executed. They videod this on go-pros, recorded themselves celebrating and screaming 'allahu akhbar', recorded themselves gathering in vast crowds to desecrate dead Jewish girls' bodies in the streets and spit on them, made phone calls to their loved ones to boast about how 'proud' they should be that their son had 'murdered so many Jews' (quote). Then they vowed to do it again and again.
All of which of course gets reframed as 'wanting peace' by Islamic activists and Pro-pal propagandists.
In other words you're witnessing the real-time re-writing of basic historical facts, and people falling for it.
This is nothing new ofc. Such shameless historical dishonesty has been a central tenet of Palestinianism for generations.
To choose another ridiculous example: Israel accepted the UN partition plan in 1947. Palestinians and Arab states rejected it, launched a brutal civil war, then invaded Israel while vowing to destroy it. They failed, ethnically cleansed their own lands of around 1 million Jews in retaliation, then reframed that shameful instance of their own genocidal aggression as the 'Nakba', and depict Israel as the aggressor. And Western progressives and other morons lap the whole thing up.
You're being played.
Why doesn’t socialism work?
Because it’s built on a fairy tale about human nature.
It assumes people will work their asses off for the “collective” with zero personal incentive. It pretends envy, greed, ambition, and the desire to provide for your own family don’t exist. It demands we ignore the fact that free humans innovate, compete, and build when they get to keep the fruits of their labor.
Instead, socialism creates a system where the lazy and connected thrive while the productive are punished. Central planners with guns decide what you need, what you deserve, and what you’re allowed to dream.
Results? Shortages, bread lines, gulags, and mass graves... every single time.
Human nature isn’t a bug. It’s the feature. You can’t “re-educate” self-interest out of people. You can only suppress it… until the whole thing collapses.
Capitalism isn’t perfect, but it channels human nature instead of declaring war on it. Socialism is for fucking retards.
+The guest: “I’m a socialist”
-Caleb: What Socialism are you in favor for?
+ Ummm I believe…
-Take a system that you are in favor of, that you would rather be our system.
+”I just don't want it to be Capitalism”
- Take a system that has been proven to work anywhere in any country that is better than our system.
- “Unfortunately, imperialism is hurting those socialist countries.”
These people are genuinely ignorant and stupid. They just repeat the talking points that they have been given!
New Harmony war kein „unglücklicher Zufall“. Es war die logische Konsequenz einer falschen Anthropologie. Der Mensch ist ein handelndes, eigennütziges, kreatives Wesen – und genau deshalb funktioniert die freie Gesellschaft mit Privateigentum, freiwilliger Kooperation und Wettbewerb so verdammt gut.
This is because the anti-capitalist left is not actually against people being crazy rich. They're against certain types of people being crazy rich.
Artists and athletes make sense to them because they've played music and sports and because their success can be explained by "luck" and "talent". Messi's wealth is not offensive to them because they understand Messi is much better at football than they are.
But when it comes to business, the anti-capitalist leftist has no framework for understanding why Jeff Bezos might be super rich since 99% of them have never ever created a product, business or service that was of value to other people. They've never taken entrepreneurial risk. They've never employed people and felt the burden of responsibility that comes with that. They've never pick up a business and given it a play in the way they've picked up a ball or a guitar.
They *literally* don't understand wealth creation. They think there is a fixed amount of money and the only thing a business does is split it unfairly.
It's why they rage at Elon and other successful business leaders. Because they genuinely don't understand why they're wealthy.
Also, and this is just as important, athletes and artists are disproportionately young, attractive, "diverse", left wing etc. Business leaders are "evil" middle aged white men whose success offends the average anti-capitalist leftist because they don't understand a) what it is they do and b) that Elon Musk has the same talent advantage on them as Messi does, it's just harder to measure.
