Last night PSG fans rioted during and after the Champions League final.
57 police officers were injured.
Cars and shops set alight.
One mob even tried to storm a police station.
Police arrested 780.
22,000 police were deployed.
Presumably, if they are drawn to play an English club in next year’s Champions League, all the people who claimed they wanted Maccabi Tel Aviv banned on grounds of public safety (and not because they were in fact a bunch of anti-Jewish racist obsessives), will be demanding the French fans are banned too?
Dear @Hertz, when i got read-ended while at a stop in your car, called your roadside number and got a "please call during business hours" message, i laughed. When I went to your location to return the car and provide insurance info of the person who hit me, and was told "do not worry we'll take care of it", i was relieved. But when weeks later you contacted me demanding i pay cash for the repair and told me hat in fact you "never take care of it" and you have no idea who told me, andit was on me to "handle it", I was furious. Luckily (with permission) I recorded your employee telling me at great length that you will in fact take care of it and after submitting this report at the location, there was no further action required of me. So, what now? Is this the sort of business you run? Lying to customers and attempting to gaslight them? Seriously?
@kenton1206 It’s a joke that you have to subscribe to so many different sports channels to watch football. I don’t know why the premier league doesn’t run their own streaming service
Paramedic Rebecca McLellan tragically died by suicide in November 2023 at the age of only 24.
As part of the inquest into her death, her final note has been publicly released.
It tells of her despair and inability to see a way through her struggles.
It literally breaks our hearts to see any 999 worker, but even one so young coming to the conclusion that leaving life is the only way to end suffering.
It makes us more resolute to provide quick effective assistance to members of the 999 services who are facing such battles in the name of those who couldn’t find a way through.
Rebecca’s note read:
“People can survive pretty much everything as long as they can see an end in sight”
“Unfortunately for me, I cannot. All I can do is wait for the inevitable fall again.”
“I miss the person I used to be. Unfortunately, that girl is long gone. I’ve been running this race for a little too long and now my legs are tired.
“I know there are those out there who love me, and to those people I thank you from the bottom of my heart”
“I love you all tremendously”.
“Please know that I tried”
“I really did.”
This is the unseen reality of the emergency services
We hope that Rebecca is at peace.

The Embassy of Israel in the UK is deeply outraged by the recent @BritannicaKids map that erased the State of Israel and presented a distorted version of reality to children.
As an educational resource that aspires to be authoritative, Britannica must ensure rigorous accuracy especially in content designed for young learners.
We welcome the removal of the outrageous misleading map, but regret that corrective action was taken only after the issue became public.
Educational platforms carry responsibility. Accuracy is not optional.
