Thank you Guillem

I believe development that focuses on user experience and rich features is what enables this fast pace.

Technically the dev speed is enabled by #Electric from the Hyperfiddle team (led by @dustingetz) and the associated Electric-specific LLM skills.

Yesterday we had the first Incremental Learners community meetup. @adham_clj shared the most important updates of https://t.co/NagzOrqVrs.

The development speed is incredibly fast-paced for a solo side project. Just the July updates feel like more than 4 years of a SuperMemo big release!

[Guillem Palau @GuillemPalauS]

2026 is officially the year Incremental Reading (IR) can go mainstream. For decades, the complex "SuperMemo Wall" kept this powerful workflow niche, but a new wave of "one man job" apps has finally bridged the gap with modern UIs and seamless integration.

Three major contenders are leading the charge, being developed by former (or current) SuperMemo users:
- Incremento (Anki add-on soon to be released) by @PB89307025
-FreeMemo (open source webapp that can be self-hosted, which integrates with Anki via Ankiconnect add-on) by @adham_clj
- Remnote's Incremental Everything plugin, an open-source add-on for a Saas platform by @hugo_marins

Screenshot of a web-based object navigator targetting the JVM management interface, to reflect out the process classpath and navigate into the contents of an uberjar. This application is defined in about 200 lines of Clojure (.clj) for the java reflection (for some simple parsing and weaving together of a set of queries that relate but were not intentionally built to relate), and absolutely no frontend code. The navigator UI is fully abstracted away by a saas, the UI is not in the same process as the JVM being interrogated, it is remote. They talk via a reverse websocket with the Electric wire protocol. For more info see https://t.co/wDZBRiPY0s "Network your REPL", a new experiment from Hyperfiddle.

#Claude continues to be funny, it can't break a function into two without changing things on its own.

Hype: AI WILL TAKE OVER
AI:

[adham @adham_327]

#Gemini is exceptional at nuking work and doing unnecessary changes.

The AI for code experimentation continue, remaining a skeptical for now.

[adham @adham_327]

Another hype for AI that never came true.

[Haider. @haider1]

Anthropic CEO, Dario Amodei

in the next 3 to 6 months, AI is writing 90% of the code, and in 12 months, nearly all code may be generated by AI

This week I'm thinking of experimenting with a Telegram bot that uses #Clojure as a backend with #Python acting as a client of sorts, anyone done anything similar?

The last time I sat down and worked on my productivity systems was in early 2023...

[adham @adham_327]

Coming back to this, I figured out my issue was improper use of zvols as datasets, still issues with permissions persist as the same user changing a while on another machine casuses the file to be read-only everywhere else

What's the point of TrueNAS and NAS storage if I can't easily use Syncthing to sync my data or Nextcloud to view & edit it?

At this point it's easier to mirror two drives on Windows and run #Syncthing ...

#Linux #TrueNAS

[adham @adham_327]

@ryan_rohrer @janetacarr This would definitely be the number 1 reason why not to do it, the uptime is horrendous, at least one day a month for the last 6 months. At least when using a provider I can shrug, point at the sky and say let's blame the clouds

[adham @adham_327]

@chaseadams @janetacarr This still does not guarntee I can self-host on my own hardware.

[adham @adham_327]

@chaseadams @janetacarr Last time I checked I needed a company to open what you would call a business account and that is so much work and atop that I now have to pay yearly taxes on that company and prepare financial statements.

[adham @adham_327]

@nternetinspired @janetacarr No static IPs and no port forwarding. I can open as many ports on my router as I want but no one can ever reach them.
