Took my ADHD meds and drank a large iced coffee to try to knock out the introduction and methods section of this manuscript and instead just came out of a 90 minute adderall hyperfocus trance where I was in Canva creating a UFO-themed abortion sticker
@PotentiallyND on a writing project I use an old fashioned paper notebook to take notes on papers that I want to cite. I can't organize papers well so I don't -I rely heavily on search engines to find ‘that paper I read’. I use zotero and excel for organizing for writing reviews
The lessons I've learned as a Ph.D. student in my second year have taught me that this pursuit confronts you more emotionally than intellectually. Sure, the mental rigor of scholarship is arduous, but it's the internal quarrel and dialogue within ourselves that's hard. /1

"Everyone is forgetful sometimes, that's not an ADHD thing!"
Really, Chad? Really?
You know that feeling when you walk into a room and forgot what you went in there for?

ARE WE THE SAME
Fellow academics w/ ADHD: I CANNOT decide on a dissertation topic. I thought I was so close + now I'm all over the place... again. This is like all the hobbies I've picked up, dropped, and picked up again throughout my life, but worse?! HELP!!! #AcademicTwitter#AcademicChatter
Gentle reminder to all my #adhd friends struggling today that MUSIC IS A POWERFUL MOOD CHANGER! you can use music to help you get “unstuck” and transition to a different state or task. What’s your favourite transition music??
