People frequently tell me I am SO organised and doubt my ADHD! Yes, I am organised, but does anybody know how hard I have to work to maintain this level of order? My WHOLE life is dedicated to managing my ADHD naturally and this takes a great amount of effort and energy!
I'd like to join your wide awake club because I am always up at 7am. I run a private tuition business and have to ensure I am ready for all the lessons. Additionally, I have hyperactive ADHD so naturally leap out of bed at about 7am! @ClassicFM
NOT ALL ADHDers ARE DAYDREAMERS! I'm a human hurricane of distracted energy with a warp-speed mind and insatiable thirst for knowledge. Nothing about me is spacey, tired or daydreamy. ADHD really is different for everyone and I'm definitely high on the hyper! #ADHD
I accept I have a DIFFERENT brain - NOT a deficient or disordered mind! My operating system is DIFFERENT and the struggles I have are due to the fact I live in a world where the majority don't share my brain type. ADHD: DIFFERENCE NOT DISORDER; ABUNDANCE NOT DEFICIT!
ADHD is NOT something we can change just by 'trying harder'. You know that 'just calm down and focus' advice we get all the time? Yes, it is damaging! Many of us are trying SO hard and we WILL crack if we actually do any more. ADHD is a battle and we are all fighters! #ADHD
ADHD isn't always medicated. Over the years, I have built up numerous coping mechanisms that help me manage my ADHD naturally. I am not against medication and think it's a great option for some. However, I don't want it and having ADHD does NOT mean you need to use medication!
"Attention Deficit" is a terrible name! I don't remember ever feeling as though I don't have enough attention. For me, I see my attention as everywhere, chasing everything. It might be a nightmare for some, but it makes me so creative and I'd never change it! #ADHD
@grumpyshrubbery I like it, but almost stopped watching at episode 2; my ADHDer friend kept me interested. I'm on episode 4 and will watch more later even though it makes me feel ill.
Yes, I did well in school and never struggled that much with homework; that's because learning is my main source of dopamine! Why not talk about how much I struggle with day-to-day things like personal care and cooking? ADHD isn't all about struggling in school! #adhd
I run ADHD Galaxy to support all ADHDers, but my main aim is to help those who choose to manage ADHD naturally. This isn't because I am against medication or don't advocate it, but since there is just NOT enough support for those of us who choose natural treatment options! #adhd
After taking a break to work on my tutoring business, I have decided to restart posting on ADHD Galaxy in time for ADHD Awareness Month!
I'll also be offering as much support as I can to others out there who choose not to medicate their ADHD! #adhdawarenessmonth
When you have ADHD, waiting can be one of the hardest things you can do. People telling you to "just be patient" isn't helpful and even though I'm much better now I'm older, my relationship with time makes it much harder to understand the concept of waiting for things. #ADHD
ADHD is more than just being easily distracted. My brain is never still and the idea of 'relaxing' is so alien I can't actually imagine what it feels like! People always say girls are more inattentive, but I live with severe hyperactivity and it's just as real! #teamADHD#ADHD
Can people PLEASE stop telling us to "just focus"! ADHD is a genuine neurodevelopmental brain difference and telling us this won't change the way our minds operate. Rather than telling us to "just focus", why not help us find ways to make the job more ADHD friendly? #ADHD
One thing that really irritates me is how ADHD is based on how much of an inconvenience we are to others. Not one part of the acronym "ADHD" accurately explains what it is like to live with this brain difference and it's far more than a problem with your attention span! #ADHD
ADHD is never an excuse! We're not faking our symptoms to get attention and we're definitely not exaggerating our struggles to get sympathy. ADHD is as real as the sun in the sky and we can't cure it just by thinking more positively! Be kind! #ADHD#teamADHD
ADHD is a neurological brain difference and NOT something we can outthink. Maybe if people started supporting us in the way we need and stopped telling us to "calm down", 'try harder" or "just focus" they might actually see us at our best. We are awesome, just different! #ADHD
ADHD stigma in the workplace is real! So often, this issue is pushed under the carpet, but we need to speak out! Employers MUST know about ADHD as it is their duty to ensure we are supported as well as we can be. ADHD IS REAL AND ADHD NEEDS AWARENESS! #ADHD#teamADHD
