A healthy environment starts with a healthy community. Our sanitation projects in Afgoi and Barawe are paving the way for both. On #WorldEnvironmentDay, we recognize the collective work of our team and community members to safeguard the environment through routine clean-ups.
New Ways team in Barawe has carried out sanitation and hygiene awareness activities under the @CatholicRelief WASHFIRST Project. Through household visits, FGDs, and hygiene promotion sessions, they advanced community knowledge and practices for better sanitation and hygiene.
New Ways’s #JRP funded ECE program provides safe, child-friendly classrooms that protect vulnerable children from exploitation and abuse while fostering early learning, nutrition and a resilient foundation for the future. Thanks to our donors for making ECE possible for children.

Across the Southwest Region of Somalia, access to water is limited to specific areas. In May this year, we have constructed and rehabilitated shallow water wells in the town of Afgoi where communities have full access to water points now. Thanks to @shf_somalia for the support.

@CatholicRelief Somalia’s new Country Manager, Mr. Tapfuma, visited NWO headquarters today to meet senior leadership in Mogadishu. The introductory session focused on strengthening the partnership and reaffirming continued collaboration between the two organizations.
In many parts of Somalia, communities struggle to live and thrive in a healthy environment due to recurrent droughts and other environmental pollutants. In Afgoi, Lower Shabele, New Ways is implementing a WASH project which partially but significantly enhances hygiene promotions.

Today, a joint mission from @unicefsomalia, @MoH_SWSS and the Southwest Ministry of Energy visited New Ways Dayax Health Centre in Barawe for a monitory tour to assess the service delivery process. New Ways is thankful to our partners for their continued support and visit.
Upon the start of every new project, New Ways holds consultations workshop with communities benefiting from our services. In preparation for the launch of our new protection program, NWO held consultation meetings with communities in Buurhakaba informing them about the program.

In our new WASHFIRST project goals with @CatholicRelief in Barawe, we plan to rehabilitate and solarize two strategic, non‑functional water points. Part of the project includes the provision of 3000 hygiene kits. The humanitarian need in Somalia is big but we can do our part.
