NO NO NO NO NO! JESUS! If you put a live PTC camera on every Airport in the world there would be many such incidents!!! Sure it was a bad call on either ATC or the Pilot of the Private Jet and the (Southwest) Pilot did the right thing in Going Around. But it’s clear to see that the crossing Jet would’ve made it across the runway long before the 737 made it there.
These things happen regularly: A Go-Around can result in an aircraft still being on the runway, missing their exit, too slow to exit etc. we see it regularly.
The angle of this video makes the runway look a lot shorter than it is, it’s an optical illusion.
Please people! Don’t let the scaremongers (who know fk-all) tell you there’s a ‘crisis in aviation’ because there isn’t!
Go take a look at a radar image and see how many aircraft are flying at any one time, then you should feel a lot safer. You’re reading too much into it.
