In Iran there is no let-up for persecuted minorities while the regime pursues its vicious crackdown on dissent. The UK condemns the sentencing of Baha’i leaders #MahvashSabet and Fariba Kamalabadi to a further decade in prison. #FoRB4All#Bahai
As part of our ongoing series, called “For the Love of Their Country,” IranWire tells the story of Dr. Heshmatollah Rouhani, a Baha'i from Najafabad, who disappeared in the first months after the 1979 Islamic Revolution. #Bahai

In July 2022 the @BahaiBIC sounded the alarm on the worst coordinated attacks against the #HumanRights of the #Bahais in #Iran seen in many years. Thank you @bobjcarr for raising your concerns for #BahaiRights directly with Iranian officials
Now the government in #Iran has, in the midst of these tragic events, arrested five prominent Baha'is in different cities across the country. #BahaiRights
My prayers are for #HumanRights in #Iran so that no one is criminalized for their freedom of religion or belief & for equality to be truly felt by all. @KMooreGilbert’s words here share the affinity & connection between those who have suffered injustice at the hands of oppression
I send a message today to Iran’s ambassador seeking an end to the arrest of members of the Bahá’í community, the barring of Bahá’ís from higher education and seizure of properties without compensation. Persecution of this isolated minority deserves the world’s attention.
Yesterday I was honoured to receive a copy of Mahvash Sabet's collection of prison poems. The 69 year old Baha'i poet is currently in solitary confinement in Evin, and had previous spent a decade behind bars for simply exercising her religious freedom.

In 2011 my former colleague @Michael_V_Day wrote this article, "Justice for members of #Bahai community in #Iran" via @ABCReligion. Now, 3 of those who have already spent 10 years unjustly in prison have again been incarcerated in #Iran#BahaiRights https://t.co/FhyR4yE0tS
