Holy shit, this “American girl” ad from @senecaprojectus is amazing!!!
Hard to see the letters I’m typing through the tears streaming down my face though.
This passage from Michelle Obama:
"I hope you'll forgive me if I'm a little frustrated that some of us are choosing to ignore Donald Trump's gross incompetence while asking Kamala to dazzle us at every turn. I hope that you'll forgive me if I'm a little angry that we are indifferent to his erratic behavior. His obvious mental decline. His history as a convicted felon. A known slumlord. A predator found liable for sexual abuse. All of this while we pick apart Kamala's answers from interviews that he doesn't even have the courage to do, y'all."
New ad from the Harris campaign on reproductive freedom, ahead of the VP's speech in Texas on Friday. This is a very tough one to watch, but it's incredibly important to. Thank you so much to Ondrea and Ceasar for trusting us to share their story.
I just stepped off a plane. A young girl in front of me was accompanied by her mom. Before I could leave the aisle and turn to exit the plane and enter the jetway, we were momentarily paused. The pilot asked the mom if her daughter wanted to see the cockpit.
I heard the girl say, “Yes, please! Can we?”
Mom nodded and they stepped forward. Before I turned to exit I saw the little girl, turned to the side, glowing—because the pilot was a girl, too.
And all I could think was, hell yes, sister. You did it. And you’re keeping that door open for others. I have no idea who the pilot is—but I’m so damn proud of her.
And ya know, that feeling when you see your sisters doing amazing stuff? Just shattering those ceilings wherever they are. Showing up. Doing the hard things. Creating a clearing so one day there’s a solid path and later a paved road for all our future sisters to safely travel down.
There’s a reason there is dramatic uptick of celebrating womanhood and female joy. There’s the friendship bracelets. There’s the Barbies. There’s the answers to the “What am I made for?’s.” There’s the Mean Girls and the Pink Pony Girls. And the short and sweet and sour of it all. And the kicking ass at the Olympics and taking care of business at home. The boss babes and the cat ladies and chicks with the fit. And there’s the dudes who join us + support us + cheer us on.
There is a reason we’ve arrived at this moment—the sisterhood is rising. We are thriving. And we are paving the way forward, because we are never going back.
And on November 5th we’re going to vote for each other.
Are you ready for it?
This is disappointing and sad. Bullies and bigots like @brianeharrison want to erase our culture and our history, with the ultimate goal of making Texas more dangerous for LGBTQ+ people. Shame on you, Brian. #txlege
Next time you read a book in the park as a woman, remember it’s now a privilege.
In Afghanistan, you can’t read a book. In public. As a woman.
