๐ So, our #CHI23 paper received a Best Paper Award, which is absolutely insane! @seongkook @aashikazim
This work explores how hand auto-pilot can help enrich the interaction capabilities of individuals with visual impairment.

Super excited to have my first-ever first-authored paper "Take My Hand: Automated Hand-Based Spatial Guidance for the Visually Impaired" conditionally accepted (finally) for #CHI2023! Shoutout to my amazing co-authors @aashikazim and Professor @SeongkookHeo! (1/2)
๐ข Life update: Just wrapped up my summer internship at @fujitsulabs -- it was an incredible experience working with @aakarg building some really cool human-assisted AI system (details soon?). I would totally recommend this opportunity to anyone interested in the topic!
Our team at Fujitsu Research of America
@fujitsulabs
is hiring winter interns (starting Jan '25) to conduct research at the intersection of #HCI and AI/CV. The position is open for US PhD students. Please DM me or apply below https://t.co/JlmMyhhDt6
A little late volunteering for #CHI2025 reviews, but if anyone needs a last-minute reviewer for assistive technology or end-user/programming interfaces, please reach out!
๐ข Attention #CHI2025 Reviewers!
Help us match you with papers that fit your interests and expertise!

@FrankElavsky @SeongkookHeo Oh wow, thanks a lot for the kind words!! There are so many creative things we can do with these low-storage passive media, I wish they were used for more than just redirecting people to websites๐
~takes a deep breath~
Late update, but my paper titled Frappรฉ received the ๐ Best Paper Award at #MobileHCI2023!
This is my second work as a PhD student that I did with @SeongkookHeo, and I am so incredibly happy to share this news.

๐ข I am actively seeking internship roles in the industry for Summer 2024. My research focuses on designing frameworks and toolkits to make interactions more accessible, and I love prototyping things. If you have any opportunities, pls reach out!

UIs made using Frappe can be deployed network-free through passive, low-storage media (e.g., QR Code, RFID), and requires minimal network bandwidth for operation (~bytes). The project is made open-source at https://t.co/SnmaLgmFAU. (3/3)
Modern interactions are increasingly app-reliant and often network-heavy (e.g., smart device controls, restaurant menus), which can pose a barrier to access. Frappe enables the rapid prototyping of lightweight mobile UIs that can be deployed without any network connection. (2/3)
Take My Hand is a project done by my students @adildsw and @aashikazim, where we suggest the idea of using automated hand-based spatial guidance for people with visual impairments.

Happy to share that we (@adildsw and @SeongkookHeo ) got an article published in @ijhcs_journal.

In this work, we introduce automated hand-based spatial guidance -- an interaction technique which allows visually impaired users to reach targets on surfaces using their hands automatically, without the need for interpreting directional audio/haptic cues. #accessibility (2/2)

Super excited to be presenting our #UIST2021 SIC project, Inter-Reality Robot Interactions, where we use Toio robots to establish inter-reality safety and communication! (Preview: https://t.co/xERZBRLRxN)
We will demonstrate our demo live during session 2A and 2C, come visit us!
