Junet Mohamed and Kimani Ichung’wah are said to be receiving Sh10 million each every month to run private offices funded by taxpayers, complete with staff whose most visible work is barking at Kenyans online.

That means taxpayers could be spending Sh20 million every month and Sh240 million every year on two offices whose legal basis, staffing, budgets and public value remain unclear.

President Ruto cannot preach austerity while millions are poured into political comfort, patronage and online propaganda.

Parliament must disclose the legal authority behind these offices, who works there, how they were recruited, what they are paid and what Kenyans are receiving in return.

These money draining offices must be shut down.
