@IndiGo6E created the problem then started charging passengers these exorbitant fees for flights… 😂 all the refunds will be funded by the excess that they’re making on fresh bookings
🚨 BIG! Modi Govt mandates ticket price capping amid IndiGo chaos.
Anyone who BOOKED an expensive alternate flight will get the extra amount REFUNDED.
Air India to REFUND the differential for tickets priced above govt cap:
➡️ Up to 500 km – ₹7,500
➡️ 500–1,000 km – ₹12,000
➡️ 1,000–1,500 km – ₹15,000
➡️ Above 1,500 km – ₹18,000
This is a joke.. I just got off the phone with @IndiGo6E and after struggling for 24 hrs, they finally confirmed the refund (no email yet) and have said it’ll get credited in 5 days!!
To reduce passenger inconvenience at airports, multiple stakeholder engagements were held and real-time airport situations have been monitored continuously over the last four days.
Regular meetings were convened with all operators, airport directors, ground-handling agencies and all other stakeholders.
Operators were instructed to provide all essential facilities for stranded passengers, with special care for senior citizens and Divyang passengers.
IndiGo has been directed to ensure timely passenger communication on cancellations and complete all refunds for cancelled or heavily delayed flights by 8:00 PM today.
The aviation network is now moving swiftly toward full normalcy and corrective measures will continue until operations fully stabilize.

@MoCA_GoI@AAI_Official
@IndiGo6E as you can see neither the Plan B or Initiate Refund options are working… would like my money back.. Customer Care is useless, they say they can’t help me. @MoCA_GoI@RamMNK
This is hogwash. @IndiGo6E has cancelled the flight I was on yesterday, running all flights from
Mumbai to Chennai today and has neither provided me a refund nor an alternative flight option.. they are selling tickets for today’s flights .. Govt is mum except for PR
HUGE BREAKING 🚨 Modi Govt gives IndiGo only 2 days to fix its operations instead of 21 days 🔥🔥
Modi Govt takes strong action against IndiGo after many flights were cancelled and ticket prices went very high.
Refunds must be given in 48 hours, and airlines cannot charge rescheduling fees.
The inquiry into what went wrong has been sped up, and penalties likely.
@IndiGo6E where is my refund. Flight cancelled yesterday, no option to initiate refund on your website… screenshot from your so called WhatsApp service attached.. Customer Care says, “undo web checkin” has to be done by airport staff for refund.. govt has mandated refund by 8 PM
@DGCAIndia is it fair that @IndiGo6E is selling tickets for flights, when they have cancelled and stranded passengers like myself without a refund or alternative. Screenshot from the indigo website
Only if they have not checked you in without your consent.. I’m neither able to get a refund or an alternative flight option because @IndiGo6E checked me into a flight which they cancelled and now say “undo checkin” has to be done, which can only be done by the airport team
I cancelled my @IndiGo6E flight from BLR to Goa on 9th Dec and got a full refund initiated from their end. You can do it too by calling this number: 0124-4973838.
P.S. – You’ll have to wait at least 20–30 minutes to get connected to an agent.
@IndiGo6E why are you selling tickets, when there are passengers like me whose flights have been cancelled and have not been provided an alternative or refund?
@IndiGo6E@IndiGo6E latest update from your customer care is that “undo checkin”
is still not done… why? Without undo checkin, they refuse to refund or give me an alternate flight option … what is this nonsense..
Hey @IndiGo6E , so my flight was cancelled and now my refund is being held up because “undo check in” has to be done to process my refund and it cannot be done by the call centre team. The best part, I didn’t initiate the check in, it was done by your ops team.
So,
1. Why was the check in done when I didn’t initiate it?
2. When the flight has been cancelled, what does check-in have to do with the refund?
3. When will I get my refund? The govt has said refunds have to be done by 7th December, 8 PM.
@IndiGo6E
The present government has been in power for 11 years, may be stop trying to deflect and accept your failures as well. Two wrongs don’t make a right as the saying goes
The attempt to blame the Indigo disruption on a so-called “monopoly model” is just another example of Rahul Gandhi’s fact-free politics. The reality is very different.
UPA-era policies triggered the worst period for India’s aviation sector:
Kingfisher, Air Deccan and Paramount all collapsed between 2008–2013 due to crippling ATF taxes, mismanagement and unchecked debt.
UPA handed over lucrative bilateral rights to Etihad, Emirates and Qatar, destroying Indian airports' chances of becoming regional hubs.
The reckless decision to buy 111 aircraft for Air India, worth over ₹70,000 crore, on debt without any operational plan pushed the airline into a financial black hole.
The disastrous 2007 Air India–Indian Airlines merger wiped out synergies and market share.
Thousands of profitable bilateral seats were surrendered to Gulf carriers against Air India’s own objections.
End result: Air India suffered ₹77,000+ crore in losses, burning ₹20 crore per day, repeatedly bailed out by taxpayers until privatisation became inevitable. That is the Congress legacy.
Meanwhile, under PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji, air travel has been democratised. The common man now flies regularly, and that seems to hurt Rahul Gandhi more than anything else.
The sector has actually become more competitive, not less.
Total number of airlines when Congress ruled for 70 years: 6
Total new airlines launched since 2014: 9
More new airlines have started in 11 years of Modi’s governance than in seven decades of Congress rule. That alone demolishes the “monopoly” narrative.
So before spreading fake news, Rahul Gandhi should look in the mirror. The real monopoly was the UPA’s monopoly on misgovernance.
100%… unless the govt has the gumption to levy the largest fine in the history of civil aviation in India, this will be but a footnote in history. Adani airlines and Ambani airlines is not the answer to what is failure at every level of governance
Sorry but this isn’t an “apology”
You
• knew that winters are prone to delays
• knew you had a pilot shortage
• had 18 months to rectify
• you still sold tickets
• you still overbooked for available capacity
There have to be CONSEQUENCES. This was EXTORTION.
What are they monitoring? Indigo is sending cancellation messages 4 hours prior to departure, without even mentioning the PNR number. Call center wait time if your lucky is 2 hours. No offer of compensation, or alternative flight. Thank you for monitoring
As per the directions of Hon’ble Minister Sh. Ram Mohan Naidu Ji, the control room at the Ministry has been continuously engaging to maintain constant vigil over the unprecedented situation arising from the cancellation and delays of IndiGo flights.
This morning, the Hon’ble Minister visited the control room and reviewed its functioning to ensure seamless communication among all stakeholders with a special focus on providing timely information to passengers.
Real-time updates from all airports are being monitored to ensure adequate response and deployment of resources, particularly for facilitating passengers stranded at various terminals.
Data from airport operators, airlines and ATC is being consolidated and shared with all airlines, especially IndiGo along with necessary directives to mobilize resources and ensure timely, proactive action to ensure that normalcy of operations is restored at all airports across the country.
@RamMNK@mohol_murlidhar@samirsinha69
This is a joke. What high level enquiry will they do? Is a high level enquiry necessary, when it’s so obvious what has happened. A private operator that has flouted the regulations is getting away scot free after holding lakhs of customers to ransom..
Government of India has decided to institute a high-level inquiry into IndiGo service disruption, says the Ministry of Civil Aviation.
The inquiry will examine what went wrong at IndiGo, determine accountability wherever required for appropriate actions, and recommend measures to prevent similar disruptions in the future, ensuring that passengers do not face such hardships again, says the Ministry
@IndiGo6E Don’t need your apologies, I want to be compensated for the extra money I have had to spend, the torture of having to trying to get through to your customer care only to hear trite responses…
This👇 Sometimes, it’s like Kerr wants to make it as difficult as possible for Steph, just to see what he’s capable of… But this series has been ridiculous, the Refs have been awful..
Lakers spent 2 days crying to the media about fouls and the refs came back and said here damm it. Suns did the same thing and got rewarded. It’s your turn Steve Kerr. For once take the fine
