​Vinesh Shetty, who runs a small grocery shop in Orlem Bazar (selling masalas, fresh coconuts, and grated coconut), has been hospitalized at Thunga Hospital in Malad for over a week following a severe brain hemorrhage.
​He has undergone brain surgery followed by a tracheostomy procedure. His medical bills have already crossed ₹10 lakhs, and doctors advise that he will need to remain hospitalized for at least another week. Unfortunately, Vinesh does not have health insurance.
​His family has managed to gather ₹5 lakhs so far (including ₹1 lakh in community support). While Thunga Hospital has agreed to provide a discount on the final bill, the remaining expenses are still well beyond the family's financial reach.
