My family thinks I'm paranoid for refusing these boat rides — and for not letting my children go either.
This is why.
A cruise capsized in Jabalpur today. Four dead. Ten missing. Some swam back on their own. Which tells you everything about the "safety" infrastructure on board.
There will be no real inquiry. And if there is one, it will change nothing.
These contracts run on bribes, not competence. The operator paid someone to get the license. Nobody checked the life jackets. Nobody will be held accountable.
This is not pessimism. This is pattern recognition.
In India, precaution isn't paranoia. It's the only safety standard that actually works.
@nimishdubey When you see the scorecard, the culprit is clear. Ridiculous that Prabhakar score 7(36), on a small ground like FSK. Remove him and the rest has scored 105 off 127, which is just under 5 rpo.
@ICC__FIFA@gurkiratsgill Hate this term ‘matchups’ or the way its interpreted! Your best bowler’s should bowl irrespective if he’s a right or left hander!!!
What catch by Shreyas Iyer? The official scorecard clearly shows the sequence recorded as "caught Bartlett, bowled Jansen". On a serious note, if this effort by Shreyas doesnt result in a long overdue amendment to how catches are recorded in official fielding stats, nothing will.
SHAMEFUL CONDUCT BY DELHI POLICE
Last night (11 April), at around 10:00 PM, a serving Brigadier’s family encountered two individuals consuming alcohol inside their car (Regn No. DL3CCY 0789) near their residence in Vasant Enclave.
Upon objecting to this act of illegal public drinking, the situation escalated. The individuals called for additional support, and soon 7–8 more men arrived in multiple vehicles. These men proceeded to assault the Brigadier’s son, causing significant injuries, and also manhandled the Brigadier himself.
Despite a call to the Police Helpline (112) and a PCR vehicle (ZBR39A, Mobile No. 9311923339) being dispatched to the spot, no effective action was taken by the police personnel present. The assault occurred in full view of the PCR van, yet no intervention was made.
Following the incident, the family approached Vasant Vihar Police Station to lodge an FIR. However, their complaint was not registered, and they were also denied immediate medical assistance. Eventually, the injured were taken to the Military Hospital for treatment.
A written complaint has since been submitted, but the lack of timely police action—both at the scene and at the police station—raises serious concerns.
This incident demands urgent attention and accountability. Strict action must be taken against those involved in illegal public drinking, organized assault, and the apparent negligence of duty by the police personnel present.

@cerebralriot I know what you mean. I am sometimes guilty of that too. But its also about the content we get to consume. Everyone is a nutritionist and has a different point of view. Best is to have a balanced view of our own and consume anything in moderation.
@cerebralriot It is true to a large extent. But our parents were a little more active than we are in our every day life and ingredients were cleaner without adulteration. They werent exposed to the junk food that we have been in the last 30 years and mostly ate clean in their prime.
