Current Brave & Former Georgia Bulldog baseball star Kyle Farmer has been watching his Bulldogs in the college baseball playoffs. He says he’d like to sneak up there for the super regional but it might be hard, unless he can get some help from Kirby Smart. 😆 🚁
Wes Johnson certainly doesn't need my advice. But if I'm picking Georgia's leadoff hitter with Tre Phelps out for Game 1, I'm going with Kenny Ishikawa (.347-2-17). In 104 at-bats, Kenny has struck out just nine times (once every 11.5 at-bats). Among the starters, his OB percentage is third (.485) behind Phelps (.490) and Daniel Jackson (.493)
My “can’t miss” super regional is Mississippi State @ Georgia.
Both are worthy of going to the CWS, but only one will make it.
I thought MSU was the best team UC played all season, and I think Tomas Valincius was the best starter they faced all year.
Add Daniel Jackson (a 25 HR/25 SB catcher) to the mix, and I need to see this series.
Plus, he started his college career at Wofford and evidently wasn’t a prized recruit.
Here's the field with the designated national seeds:
No. 3 Georgia-No. 14 Mississippi St.
No. 4 Auburn-Ole Miss
No. 5 North Carolina-USC
No. 6 Texas-No. 11 Oregon
No. 7 Alabama-St. John’s
No. 15 Kansas-Oklahoma
No. 16 West Virginia-Cal Poly
Troy-Little Rock
Fantastic year for college catchers but none of the other finalists are as versatile as DJ who deserves both the Posey and Golden Spikes award! @BaseballUGA
