Claims that Ukrainian President Zelensky has bought two yachts through a proxy have been viewed millions of times.
That’s not true.
Both yachts are listed as being for sale on two broker websites. Both firms have confirmed to me and @Shayan86 that they have not been sold…
This TikTok with over 200,000 views doesn’t show Palestinians sleeping rough.
It’s old footage from a Catholic festival in Lisbon in August, showing pilgrims sleeping in the open.
There’s plenty of real footage from the current conflict, sharing unrelated content is unhelpful.
This TikTok with over 700,000 views doesn’t show a Hamas attack on an Israeli military base.
It’s literally stock video of an oil storage fire, uploaded in 2019.
Two deepfakes of Ukrainian army boss Valery Zaluzhny calling for a coup have been shared on Russian social media.
Lips are out of sync + fakes look fuzzier than the original clips.
But overall these appear to be more convincing than some of the fakes we saw earlier in the war.
Jackson Hinkle is spreading misinformation again. These are not "breaking" pictures of US air strikes in Syria right now.
These images are from March, and show US strikes against an Iran-backed group in Deir el-Zour, Syria; fact-checked by @ContextFall.
@elonmusk@Not_the_Bee Funny. No one's told the school's website: It still lists a Halloween field day AND a Halloween parade the following day on its events calendar right on the home page. https://t.co/KwFxqaxmVi
Speculation about Putin’s “cardiac arrest” is gaining millions of views on this platform.
The source? Well, the original source appears to be an anonymous “insider” Telegram channel with a track record of spreading sensationalist rumours about the Kremlin.

BBC Verify's first piece for @BBCNews at Ten went out last night, examining the extent of the devastation and destruction in the Ukrainian city of Bakhmut. A powerful and harrowing story. Honoured to work with @OlgaMalchevska and @SoyaInk to produce my first piece for the Ten.
Thread 1) @elonmusk is promoting racist misinformation in the wake of the #allentx shootings. There are a number of examples but I want to focus on this graph, which has been shared and liked hundreds of thousands of times. What's the story behind it, and why is it misleading?
A while ago me & some colleagues went through over 1100 big Twitter accounts reinstated post Musk. We wanted to see who was coming back & whether a general amnesty translated into better behaviour on return. We found an interesting mix of results 1/7 https://t.co/fe9Z2IStuP
Since @elonmusk and his redoubtable hired hands seem determined to obscure what happened on Jan. 6 and why Twitter executives were scrambling on Jan. 7, it seems essential to point out that Twitter in fact played a central role in Trump’s coup attempt: specifically, this tweet.
Why is Dzyadko’s tweet screencapped, not linked to? Because the original is not conductive to deception: as is obvious from (now deleted but archived) video, Dzyadko is not welcoming Crimea’s annexation but pointing out clashes between Russia’s occupation forces and locals.
Elon Musk has embedded himself in the right-wing ecosystem. Here’s a thread of him getting cozy in the mentions of fascists, all from just the past week. 🧵
Pre-war Putin’s “perpetual winning” has been an illusion, a product of aggressive mythmaking, some luck (oil/gas prices), and a lot of real-world effort on the part of RU government’s technocrats. 1
Spot on analysis. Easy to overestimate snippets of crazy rhetoric on Russia’s propaganda. These shows are about what the Kremlin wants people to think, and entertaining them at the same time. They do not give an insight into the Kremlin’s thoughts https://t.co/TCah5TC0kA
