Social Media Managers don’t just know their field, they know everything about the brands they work for.
When one leaves, the institutional knowledge you lose with them is incredibly hard to replace.
They aren’t disposable. Don’t treat them like they are.
Social media managers are not “gurus.”
They don’t do “magic.”
They don’t “play on Facebook.”
They don’t “do social.”
They are marketing, PR, and media relations professionals—among many other roles.
The language you use to describe their profession matters.
