Did you know you can control #ibus from Terminal? Everything from checking layouts on the machine, viewing current layout and switching layouts all can be done from Terminal. Useful for i3/polybar, sway/waybar.

Tried #KDE 5.17 on Void Linux recently and it was close to XFCE in terms of memory usage. It is a bit heavy on gpu compared to XFCE, but a lot better when I last tried it.
@omgubuntu@ManjaroLinux@elementary@fedora I've had some issues with Fedora upgrade. So my vote goes to Void Linux - because it runs superfast with runit instead of SystemD and there were almost no issues with upgrades. Arch was good to me too.

To know which layout ibus is currently at, run:
ibus engine | awk -F":" '{ print $2 }'
Outputs something like: `us` or `bn`
