English is a mixed ethnicity. Celts, Angles, Saxons, Normans. All people's with very different ethnic fingerprints.

It's why there are tall, short, blonde, dark haired, fat, wiry English people. No 10 white English people look the same, a tell tale sign, as opposed to going to parts of Europe where everyone broadly looks the same in height, hair colour, etc.

My Mother had blonde hair and blue eyes, all her family did. English forever.

My Father was from a British caught slave family. Ghana or Nigeria probably. But from Barbados, a proud Anglophile colony before the United Kindgom existed. It is called Little England and Bajan politicians, luminaries and scholars speak better English, correctly spoken and written, than most English people in England.

So in my case, I can both claim English by one side being on this island forever, other side by loyalty to Crown ( until recently), culture( best Cricketers per population on earth) and cultural practices ( language, ancient English customs).

In the round, both are Englishness personified. Cultural, blood, amalgamated.
