Dear football,
Today, I want to share with you that this season will be my last as a professional footballer. After so many years living my dream, I feel it’s time to start a new chapter in my life.
Being honest, even though I have been preparing myself for this moment, I found it hard to write this letter. After 20 seasons , many people have played an important role in my career.
When I first kicked a ball as a child in Pamplona with my schoolmates, I never imagined the amazing journey ahead. I’m grateful for every moment: the wins, the tough losses, the challenges, and most of all, the people I’ve met and the friendships I’ve made along the way.
To my teammates, coaches, and every staff member at all the clubs I’ve been lucky to be part of, thank you for helping me grow as a person and a player every day. Wearing the shirts of CA Osasuna, Olympique Marseille, Chelsea FC, Atlético de Madrid, Sevilla FC, and representing my country at the biggest stages has been a true privilege. Every moment has meant so much to me…
🇬🇭Emmanuel Aggrey Tieku is a 31 year old artist who works between Accra and Paris. He has spent years transforming discarded textiles into large scale installations. Baleboard is the project that takes this practice into public view by replacing commercial advertising with cascading textile waste. These works are installed on the same billboard structures that typically promote consumer products.
Tieku stated that galleries tend to confine discussions within their walls, whereas billboards allow conversations to unfold in public spaces. Ghana receives approximately 15 million second-hand garments every week. Around 40 percent are unsellable. This waste frequently ends up in drainage systems, coastal lagoons, and the sands of Jamestown Beach. Tieku told AFP that if waste is not visible, it fades from awareness. He noted that the project brings this reality back into focus

Most people in the comments haven’t yet touched 10k Ghana cedis as monthly salary so they think it’s something really big. When you get there you’ll understand. I remember I used to be so entitled like how is my bro making so much money and not helping, now that I’m there myself I understand. There’s money and there’s money. 10,000 ghs is not money like that. But there’s nothing I can say to convince you unless you’ve actually lived that experience. For starters my fuel alone is 2000ghs a month and I barely use the car unless for work and back home. And there’s lunch- 60ghs a day 5 days a week, etc
Again, there’s money and there’s money. When you get there, you’ll understand. For now kasa by heart. I’m just laughing 🤣
