Today at the joint House and Senate Committees on Veterans’ Affairs VSO hearing, @WWP CEO Lt. Gen. (Ret.) Walt Piatt highlighted three of WWP’s nine legislative priorities for the year—and the legislation needed to advance them:

Honor the promise to those who served by passing the Major Richard Star Act this year. Veterans should not be denied access to the benefits they have earned.

End veteran suicide by expanding research into innovative therapies that can save lives. Congress can help by passing the Innovative Therapies Centers of Excellence Act.

End veteran homelessness by ensuring disability compensation never stands in the way of housing by passing the Housing Unhoused Disabled Veterans Act.

Grateful for the opportunity to testify and to continue working with Congress on issues impacting veterans.

I was given the charge to lead as a Warrior Advocate Leader (WAL). Team One comprised of two warriors from Alabama & three warriors from Georgia.

Yesterday was an exciting first full day as Warrior Advocate Leaders had the opportunity to reconnect, learn, and hit Capitol Hill – all in preparation for an amazing week focused on turning lived experiences into meaningful change for veterans. #WWPadvocacy
