voice was barely above a whisper, her lips trembling as she clung to him.
โnever let me go again. . .โ
she murmured, holding onto him as though she couldn't bear the thought of losing him a second time.
โ
โ โ a soft gasp escaped her as soon as his arms curled around her, holding her tightly. her own tears spilled over once again, and she buried her face against his chest, fingers curling desperately into the fabric of his shirt.
โoh, ash. . . never again, i promise.โ
her โ
here. The tears return as he suddenly wraps his arms around her, hugging her and holding her close. He sniffles and shakes his head*
Don't leave me again. Please.
another tear fell.
โall i know is that i woke up in that grave, and i couldn't breathe.โ
her gaze softened as she looked at him, her thumb brushing gently against his sleeve.
โi'm not asking you to believe me after everything. . .i probably wouldn't even believe myself.โ
โ
โ โ linda's expression crumpled at the sight of his tears, her own slipping silently down her cheeks. she reached for him, gently brushing her fingers against his cheek, as though trying to reassure him that she was really there.
โoh, ash. . . please stop apologizingโโ
herโ
here come the tears. Years of build up all spilling out of his eyes as he continues*
I'm sorry, Linda. I don't even care if this is a trick. I'm sorry. I- I didn't know what to do. I STILL don't know what to do. I- we were just kids, I-
voice cracked as she shook her head, her trembling hand settling against his arm.
โ i know you thought i was dead. . . i remember the chainsaw, the pain, and then. . . nothing. i don't know what happened to me. maybe i should be dead. maybe i was. โ
she swallowed hard as โ
swallowed hard, shaking her head as the memories came rushing back.
โi know you thought i was dead. i know that. but i wasn't, ash. i was still there. i was still ๐ข๐.โ
โ
โ โ climbing inside the passenger seat, she waited for him to join, once he did, she looked at him. eyes filled with a mixture of fear, pain. . .and maybe a glimmer of hope.
โi know, ash . . .i-was. . . until i somehow wasn't anymore. i still struggle remembering โ
*he offers the smallest of smiles in return before heading out to his car. Once there, he holds the door open for her, allowing her to get in before getting in himself on the driver's side. He looks at her, still a little teary eyed*
.... Linda, you were.... you were dead-
everything, but i remember waking up in the dark. there was dirt in my mouth, in my nose. i couldn't breathe, ash.โ
her voice trembled, tears gathering in her eyes once more
โi tried screaming, but nobody could hear me, so i started digging. with my bare hands.โ
she โ
โ
โ โ as he came back and suggested to talk privately, she nodded. a faint smile found her features at the mention of his old car.
โsounds good. . . thanks, ashโโ
โ
โ โ pulling her shaky hand back again, she stopped moving after he stepped back from her. the sight of his teary expression hurt almost more than her own sorrow.
โit's a long story. . .but, please let me explain๏นโ
*instinctively, he steps back when she steps forward, but the anger leaves his eyes, being quickly replaced by sorrow. Tears roll down his own cheeks as his voice comes out finally*
..... Linda? But.... how?
