Last week was Yom Hashoah. Every day more and more of that generation of survivors leave us. I think of that generation-- those that endured the unendurable. And those that risked everything to save the world. Truly one of the greatest generations ever. /1
The NYT published an entire piece on the global response to Venezuela’s devastating earthquake.
They named every country that sent rescue teams, even those that have only pledged assistance.
Yet Israel, which already has over a dozen rescue workers on the ground, was left out.
.@Wikipedia is literally erasing Jewish history and identity, systematically and maliciously. Everyone in the organization knows this is happening -- so none of it is an oversight or an accident.
Wikipedia is a major source on which LLMs are trained. College students are more likely to read the Wikipedia article than the textbook. This is how public knowledge is shaped.
Loay Alnaji killed Paul Kessler, a Jewish American, at a pro-Hamas demonstration where genocidal threats were heard. For that he gets just one year in prison in California.

Also: I don't think Israel will shy away from arming the Kurds this time. In fact it may be already happening to a certain extent.
The reason why Trump went sour on arming the Kurds was Turkey. But Israel has no love lost for Turkey. I'm afraid Erdogan makes it all very easy.

These are the same people demanding Elon "end world hunger" (lol) with his money
The rent freeze is such a perfect political move. Mamdani gets credit for saving people money but none of the blame for the negative consequences from that.
Moreover, the negative consequences are not going to show up in any data sets, they will just be anecdotal complaints from people living in NYC. These complaints will fall into a couple buckets:
1) "that is the landlord's fault, landlords are evil"
2) "that's not Mamdani's fault, you're lying"
3) "these bad things are your fault, you voted for Mamdani"
It sucks and, if you live in NYC, I'm sorry that it sucks.
⭕ This brilliant move by Rubio is basically sticking his finger in Vance's eye. Vance wanted Iran to control Lebanon; Rubio just neutralized that, and Iran can't do anything about it. Outstanding move by Rubio
🚨 The framework agreement to be signed in a few minutes in Washington will include the Israeli agreement to the IDF's withdrawal from two areas in Lebanon in favor of a "pilot" in which the Lebanese army will enter the territory instead of IDF forces. In addition, the two countries will sign a recognition of each other's sovereignty over their respective territories. This is what sources familiar with the details of the agreement tell me.
The moment a leader chooses surrender over fighting until victory or death, he stops being a ruler and becomes a slave in waiting. Empires fall not from strong enemies, but from weak spines wearing crowns.
Interesting. @NickKristof told @piersmorgan I'm the only military scholar/retired officer with the positions I have on IDF conduct relating to the Gaza War (mine based on hundreds of interviews to include the entire chain of command and numerous direct observations of IDF conduct in/across Gaza).
I guess he hasn't heard of the 4 x High Level Military Groups with numerous 4/3/2/1 Generals / COL / LTCs from the U.S. and multiple NATO countries (Spain, Italy, UK, etc.) that have gone into Gaza, conducted interview of Israel military commanders. Like the High Level Military Group report submitted to the ICC. https://t.co/9nFTeGj82J
Or how about General Sir John McColl former NATO Deputy Supreme Allied Commander Europe (DSACEUR) who in his words "visited Israel with a team of military experts from six Nato countries to see for myself…" stating "The procedures are at least as rigorous as those applied in the UK armed forces...In addition, the Israeli military carries out civilian evacuations of war zones, forgoing the element of surprise, to which it would be entitled in armed conflict." - Sep 2024 https://t.co/8gXKfpDGtR
But sure Nick, I'm the only one.

"The pro-Israel congressman raised early campaign cash, defined his opponent aggressively and prioritized strong constituent services"

The moment Eli Sharabi, who was held hostage in Gaza, told the UN the truth.
"NO ONE in Gaza helped me. I was treated worse than animal. The civilians saw us suffering and they cheered our kidnappers. They were definitely involved."
