بیانیه کنگره مشترک جمهوری‌خواهان دموکرات و فدرال دموکرات:

ما به عنوان گروه جمهوری‌خواهان، با نگرانی عمیق، حملات نظامی آمریکا و اسرائیل به خاک ایران را دنبال می‌کنیم.
گرچه هیچ انسان آزادی‌خواهی از جنگ و ویرانی استقبال نمی‌کند، اما سیاست‌های مخرب و تهدیدگری حکومت ایران این شرایط را رقم زده است.
با این حال، ما باور داریم آینده ایران باید توسط خود مردم ایران تعیین شود؛ با تلاش برای دموکراسی پایدار و عدالت اجتماعی در سراسر کشور، بدون دخالت خارجی و بدون بازتولید استبداد.
هشدار می‌دهیم که زندان‌ها باید مصون بمانند، زیرا بسیاری از آینده‌سازان ایران در همان‌جا هستند.
هرچند این وضعیت تلخ و پرهزینه است، اما می‌تواند امکان اقدام مستقل مردم را برای تغییر فراهم کند. در نهایت، آرزوی ما پایان سریع این جنگ، برقراری صلح، آزادی و دموکراسی برای مردم ایران است.

دانشجویان بار دیگر نشان دادند که «زن، زندگی، آزادی» صرفاً یک شعار نیست، بلکه بیانگر افقی ضد جنسیتی و آزادی‌خواهانه است که نسل امروز برای فردایی بهتر بر آن ایستادگی می‌کند. هنگامی که فریاد «زن، زندگی، آزادی، جمهوریِ ایرانی» از صحن دانشگاه تهران طنین‌انداز شد، شبکه‌های اجتماعی نیز با استقبال گسترده با هشتگ #زن_زندگی_آزادی_جمهوری_ایرانی به آن پاسخ دادند؛ گویی صدایی که از دل دانشگاه برخاست، در جامعه پژواکی چندبرابر یافت.

این همراهی گسترده نشان می‌دهد که با سانسور، تحریف و روایت‌سازی‌های فرسوده نمی‌توان صدای جنبش مدرن، برابرخواه و پیشرو دانشجویان را خاموش کرد. این نسل زبان خود را یافته است؛ زبانی روشن، رهایی‌طلب و آینده‌ساز که به گذشته باز نخواهد گشت.
«زن، زندگی، آزادی» برای این نسل تنها یادآور یک خیزش نیست؛ بنیان چشم‌اندازی است که اکنون با «جمهوری ایرانی» پیوند خورده و از دل دانشگاه به فضای مجازی و از آن به خیابان خواهد رسید. چون این صدا، صدای آینده است.

Dear Secretary-General Guterres,

I am writing to you on behalf of United Nations Watch, an independent human rights organization dedicated to holding the UN accountable to its founding principles. It has come to our attention that Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi is scheduled to address the UN Human Rights Council on February 23, 2026, in your presence.

A key figure in the Iranian regime, Mr. Araghchi has been implicated in grave violations of human rights, including crimes against humanity. His involvement in the regime's systematic repression, including the brutal crackdowns on protesters, executions, and support for terrorist activities, renders his participation in a body devoted to human rights utterly incompatible with the UN's Charter and the Council's mandate. Allowing him to speak would send a dangerous message that the UN tolerates and platforms mass murderers.

We urgently call on you to disinvite Foreign Minister Araghchi from this event. Failure to do so will compel us to urge Swiss authorities to pursue his arrest for crimes against humanity upon his arrival in Geneva, in accordance with international law and Switzerland's obligations under the Rome Statute. The UN must not provide a stage for those who perpetrate atrocities against their own people and threaten global peace.

Furthermore, reports today in Iranian state media indicate that you sent a congratulatory message to President Masoud Pezeshkian on the 47th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution's victory. This message, as described, extends "warmest congratulations" to a regime notorious for its decades-long record of oppression, including the killing, raping, and murdering of Iranians in the name of its ideology.

The world deserves transparency on this matter. We therefore demand that you immediately release the full text of this letter to the public, allowing for scrutiny and accountability. If the reports are authentic, we urge you to explain how congratulating a regime responsible for ongoing massacres serves the cause of peace and justice.

The United Nations was established to prevent the recurrence of the horrors of the past, not to celebrate or enable those who commit them. We implore you to act decisively in defense of the UN's integrity and the victims of the Iranian regime's abuses. We look forward to your prompt response and actions on these critical issues.

Efrat Lachter, Fox News: Given the thousands of civilians who were killed by the Iranian regime, do you think it was wise that today you sent a letter of congratulation to the Iranian authorities?

Stéphane Dujarric, U.N. Spokesman: So the letter that went out from the Secretary-General is a standard letter that goes out to every member states on their national holiday. And this has been a tradition for decades.

Every year each member state gets the exact same letter, right? Congratulating on their national holiday and conveying best wishes to the people of that country. As I said, the letters went out yesterday to Iran, Gambia, and Lithuania, if I'm not mistaken.

So it's like I said, it's a decades long tradition. And I said each member states gets the exact same letter. It should not be interpreted by anyone who receives it as an endorsement of whatever policies may be going, the government may be putting in place.

It doesn't change the Secretary-General's view of the crackdown that we saw in Iran, which he called horrendous, given the level of violence and deaths that we saw.

Fox: Following up on that, the Iranian Foreign Minister is said to come to address the Human Rights Council later this month. How does that reconcile with what you just said?

U.N. Spokesman: Well, first of all, that's a decision of the Human Rights Council. We also believe this. This is a membership organization.

Every member state has a right to address legislative bodies and every member state has a right to question whatever statements others may be making.

It is not within the Secretary-General's authority to bar a Member State from addressing a legislative body. And for the Human Rights Council, I would ask you to ask the President of the Human Rights Council.
