A $500M mc German company partnered with Cursor in April:
The company is Nagarro $NA9
$NA9 has a market cap of ~ $500M and trades at trades at an ntm P/E of 6.9x
Valuations have been compressed for a lot of software companies, but this $SPCX acquisition might fuel a rerate for companies involved in AI coding (like Cursor).
Cursors latest reported run rate was $2B, though we don't know Cursors profitability, the acquisition puts valuation at ~ 30x sales (though it's ARR, so the real number will be higher).
For reference of how cheap Nagarro is comparatively, the sales multiple on $NA9 is ~ 0.45x.
Cursor offers an agentic AI coding tool for enterprises.
Nagarro chauffeurs such agentic coding tools and gets them integrated into enterprises.
Something to consider though:
Cursor is growing much faster than Nagarro. So they likely won't trade at equal valuations, but the almost 60x disparity in multiples looks overdone and their partnership with Cursor could induce a rerate for Nagarro.
This acquisition from $SPCX could fuel a run for businesses that offer AI coding services and adjacent products.
Software names have been hit hard, this might bring some of them back from the dead.
I've got a list of businesses I'm looking further into, I'll share anything I find.
