Yo can any pc wizards help answer a question cuz I couldn’t find much online.

My brother has a pre built pc and got a new gpu that I was trying to install, but the motherboard advanced tab is locked. Would a new motherboard solve this issue or am I being stupid?

@NotPandas Reading thru some forums it seems like they don’t wanna unlock it, and I was just trying to change the graphics card from integrated to the new one. I’ve never dealt with integrated or anything so maybe I’m just being dumb but it always chose integrated over the new gpu

I also think this is a very scummy practice considering my brother owns the pc and should have the right to do what he wants with it, whether or not HP thinks it’s a good idea.

(Btw I tried installing the gpu before and it keeps booting up with the integrated graphics)
