Just yesterday, Russian guided aerial bomb strikes on Zaporizhzhia killed 5 people and injured 26 others. In Poltava, tragically, 2 people were killed and 12 were injured as a result of the shelling, including 6 children. My condolences to their families and loved ones.
The Dnipro, Kharkiv, Odesa, Sumy, Donetsk, Kirovohrad, and Rivne regions also came under attack. Our frontline and border communities are constantly targeted by drones. In total, this week alone, the Russians launched about 2,200 attack drones, more than 1,800 guided aerial bombs, and 87 missiles of various types against Ukraine.
It truly matters that, against the backdrop of these attacks, the G7 and European Council summits and the UDCG meeting delivered results and secured new contributions to strengthen our defense. I am grateful to our partners for their unity. It is now equally important to implement everything quickly, above all the delivery of air defense missiles, so that these new contributions provide real protection for lives from constant Russian strikes. Thank you to everyone who is helping.
I never understood the Western fascination with Russia. I was a Soviet citizen and lived under that system. I’ve also lived in America and Europe. Compared with the West, Russia is a shithole in every practical, moral and political sense. What exactly are you admiring?
Zelensky at the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra after Russia struck it yesterday.
The debris of a Russian Geran-2 drone was found on the roof.
The monastery was built in 1051 and is the most important site of Orthodox Christianity in Ukraine.
Today, Russia damaged:
- Kyiv Pechersk Lavra, a nearly 1,000-year-old UNESCO World Heritage site;
- The Mystetskyi Arsenal cultural complex in Kyiv;
- The Dovzhenko Film Studio in Kyiv;
- The Kharkiv Art Museum;
- The House of Chamber and Organ Music in Dnipro.
These are not military targets. This is Ukrainian culture, history, art, and identity.
So tell us again, what exactly is Russia fighting for? Or is it fighting against the very existence of Ukraine itself?
Had a chat with a friend in the military about Crimea. He thinks the public and most militaries do not yet fully grasp the enormous significance of what Ukraine did. Putting an entire region the size of Massachusetts under a blockade, without a navy or ground force, but drones.
Lares felizes e saudáveis são o pilar mais importante para uma boa sociedade.
Pai fraco → filha vagabunda
Mãe masculina → filho afeminado
Pai ausente → filhos sem auto estima
Mãe narcisista → filhos inseguros
Casamentos ruins → lares infelizes
Lar infeliz → sociedade infeliz
Lares infelizes criam homens fracos,
e homens fracos acabam destruindo a sociedade.
Pai forte → filha confiante
Mãe feminina → filho masculino
Pais amorosos → filhos seguros
Casamento saudável → lar pacífico
Lar pacífico → sociedade forte
Hard Pill to swallow as an adult:
At some point, you will have to disappoint others to live a life that's honest to you.
People pleasing will drain you, not save you.
You have every right to set boundaries and choose your peace. You can disappoint people and still be a good person.
While millions knew Carl Sagan from television, his students at Cornell University experienced his philosophy firsthand.
He famously taught an undergraduate introductory seminar where the entire grade depended on challenging assumptions.
The unwritten rule was simple: students could earn an “A” for completely disagreeing with Sagan on a scientific or philosophical point, provided they used strict empirical logic to support their claim.
The lesson was intellectual humility.
Sagan would deliberately present a convincing but flawed scientific argument, wait to see who blindly accepted it because of his authority, and then dismantle it to show how easily the human mind can be swayed by a famous title or confident delivery.
Russia is carrying out hundreds of strikes against Ukrainian cities and communities, attacking our civilian infrastructure every day. This past week alone, the Russians have launched 1,920 attack drones, 1,790 guided aerial bombs, and 17 missiles of various types against Ukraine. We need to step up our countermeasures against these attacks. We are preparing for meetings with partners to strengthen our defense against this Russian terror. The G7, EU, and NATO summits are ahead. And it is very important that these negotiations result in concrete decisions. We expect meaningful meetings with our partners.
First and foremost, we need support for air defense and our long-range capabilities, an expansion of cooperation in the Drone Deals format, and further strengthening of sanctions pressure on Russia. We must end this war in a dignified way and with guaranteed security. And it is through strength, the unity of partners, and pressure on Russia that this can be achieved in a lasting way. I thank everyone who is helping us!
Efforts to deal with the aftermath of the Russian strikes are ongoing in Kyiv, as well as in Kharkiv. Last night, the Russians launched more than 60 missiles at the capital alone. In total, 70 missiles and 611 drones were used against Ukraine. As of now, 28 people have been reported injured and four killed in the capital. My condolences to all their families and loved ones. A Russian strike on the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra set the Dormition Cathedral on fire – a church whose history dates back to the 11th century. And this is one of Russia’s most serious crimes against Christian culture to date. The State Emergency Service has already extinguished the fire on the cathedral’s roof. In Kharkiv, the Russians carried out a repeat strike against our rescuers as they were putting out a fire at the site of an earlier strike on an industrial facility. So far, tragically, five people have been confirmed killed. My condolences to all their families and loved ones. Nine people have been injured. In Dnipro, Russia struck the grounds of a railway station, a college, and several enterprises.
Other cities and communities were targeted as well. The Kyiv, Dnipro, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, and Mykolaiv regions were also under attack. This is how Russia shows the world its intention to continue the war. It is very important that there be a response from the G7 countries, which are now gathering for their summit – and that this response be decisive and substantive: more pressure on the aggressor and more support for Ukraine’s air defense, especially anti-ballistic capabilities. I thank everyone who is helping us protect lives.
