These were the first shots the fans ever saw of our reveal of this series so some pressure was involved in the making of! It was fun to redress this familiar location to keep it moody but cheerful.

@ozn1911 @Guillesariegos The hall, stairs, and crawling scene were 3D sets. All had matte painting / after effects passes after in BG before going to comp! The plane scene was a clever skydome image animated in after effects

@torpordust @alexhellebaut Team effort! The interior hall set + server room was made and mattepainted by Dani Cashmore. The stairs asset was made by Jamie Williams. The candle shots were mattepainted by Ola Kolendo. The plane scene made at SOI. Rest of the shots were done by me. Was fun to supervise this!

Been looking into Roman gold glass portraits from 3rd/4th century AD. Achieved by scraping away a sandwiched piece of gold leaf. Almost scary how recognisable they look, this one in particular wouldn't feel out of place as a modern editorial illustration.

Reading that the Palatine Chapel could fit inside the Hagia Sophia’s central void without touching the sides or the dome. Can’t get the image out of my head, what a contrast of west and east

@sinuous_grace @bilawalsidhu Yeah I agree. It most certainly will replace artists and musicians if we continue down this path. People's arguments of 'art needing a soul' don't address the reality of the industry itself where things get made for a purpose. It's not a painting vs photography situation imo.

@sinuous_grace @bilawalsidhu Fair enough! It's definitely a fascinating age, I never thought we'd be dealing with such issues so early into this century haha. Hopefully things play out well but it's hard to be optimistic when it's unsure if you'll have a livelihood in the next decade.

@sinuous_grace @bilawalsidhu - You are looking at it like a problem that needs to be solved. The 'learning/practice/creation' is part of the beauty of pursuing a passion, why must we 'solve' it? And how is this in any way a democratisation? It reduces people's livelihoods to a triviality

@bilawalsidhu If everyone can make their own movies at a button’s press, what hope does any budding filmmaker or storyteller have of a career against an intensely subjectively saturated market? The entire creative industry ceases to exist - how does this affect society positively?

@bilawalsidhu I don’t understand how you don’t see this as intensely dystopian - swathes of creative industry (and workers) completely redundant, utter saturation of media without directorial pull, most importantly a complete disincentive to engage with arts in any meaningful way
