Win a £4 million Cornish house for the price of a coffee. That is the pitch behind Britain's £1.3 billion prize-draw industry, which runs largely outside gambling law.
@TheDon_Foster wants these draws given the same protections as licensed gambling.

Ladies Lounge is a support group for survivors of domestic abuse and sexual assault. Last week, I met with Suzanne, the project manager at Ladies Lounge, and attended one of their regular meetings to hear directly from survivors. It was an emotive and powerful discussion. The group was described as a lifeline, sometimes the only form of help or family to survivors, offering essential mutual aid and support.
I was deeply troubled to hear about some of the issues raised, and in light of this meeting, I have written to multiple local leaders, including the police, Torbay Council, and the Department for Education. Far more early intervention is needed, including greater awareness-raising within the education system.

The best way to reduce the welfare bill is to fix our NHS and social care systems, giving people the support they need to get back to work and stay there.
Farage getting ‘gifts’ of £5 million and then looking to cut vital support from some of the most vulnerable in our society shows how out of touch Reform are. It would also be foolish to hand extra costs and responsibilities to businesses without any consultation, at a time when they are already struggling thanks to many of the Labour government's decisions.

Over two decades, the SNP has bred a culture where scandal-hit ministers have failed to take responsibility.
The First Minister has promised accountability but commitments ring hollow unless the Scottish Government demonstrates leadership by changing the way it works.
The Local Government Association's Culture, Tourism and Sport Committee is holding a Smith Square Debate on Rewiring the cultural system on 17 September between 2:00-3:30pm.

Young Liberals put their questions straight to the Lords this weekend.
Shaffaq Mohammed, education spokesperson, and Dave Goddard, Chief Whip, took a Q&A at the party's youth conference, answering members on their work in the chamber.

Hospitals across the country are breaching NHS temperature limits, putting vulnerable patients at risk and making it harder for staff to provide care.
This is incredibly dangerous. It’s time to heat-proof our NHS.
🚨 BREAKING: The Government will shortly issue an emergency alert to all phones in England and Wales warning them not to light anything that can cause a wildfire
It's been largely very dry and warm/hot for many weeks. But is our weather likely to change soon? 🥵
Watch Aidan discuss whether we'll get a relief from the heat or meaningful rain ⤵️
Wildfires. Heatwaves. We can all see it: climate change is here.
Yet the government has given the green light to massively expand Luton airport, without stating how it can do so within the country’s emissions framework. Unbelievable.
The public register of lobbyists has only ever covered hired consultants. The in-house teams that lobby government for a single employer stay off it.
Mark Pack, Lib Dem Cabinet Office spokesperson, backed a bill to bring them onto the register too.

Nigel Farage's phoney by-election was an attempt to dodge scrutiny over his £5m donation. He can’t dodge it forever.
Now he’s back in Westminster, the investigation must resume.

With the hot weather due to continue into the weekend, it is important that you look after yourselves and your loved ones in the higher temperatures.
🚒 Emergency services are hard at work tackling fires in and around our area, so please think carefully about where you are and👇
