@Ryrica_VTuber Household stoves aren't hot enough for proper stir frying, so rice is kept in the fridge overnight to dry it, so that less heat is wasted to vaporise the water, and more heat can be used for the chemical reactions involved in stir frying.
At least that's what I've been taught.

This is interesting. I would immediately hate it if I see this in a C-like language (including JS), but I'd have no problem with it in a shell script (and frequently use it myself).
