@JuanNava62343@noting014@ProspectsUsmnt That’s true but some of that was later in the game when it was more open. It’d be harder to get those chances in a World Cup game you’d think
@noting014@ProspectsUsmnt I’m almost more confident that they’ll ride the good vibes through the group, particularly in the opening game since SA is pretty meh
Curious to see if they find a groove before the knockouts because they probably need to
@Tarikh_Eran@NIACouncil Because presumably the IRGC wouldn’t listen and the US does have an obligation to treat teams the same
It’s ridiculous that Azmoun didn’t get picked but that doesn’t mean the US doesn’t have to treat team melli fairly lol
@Albert_Kim2022 It was a good performance but 2-1 flatters them a lot. They did well to try and limit France but they had 2 decent chances and scored 2 goals, felt very smash and grab
Looking forward to seeing them in what should be two really competitive games in the group v 🇪🇨 and 🇩🇪
@MciMidfielder@Jon_Mackenzie Feels like it really depends on opposition or if you’d rather have olise central and a more traditional winger like doue wide right but god he’s been sublime in this first half
@juasanalghaib Sure it’s not ideal to have matches in the middle of the night but you guys do have to get over it. What’s the alternative? Always have world cups +/- three hours of gmt forever? It’s gotta go around the globe that’s the whole point
@sk_football1907 Senegal are an odd case, didn’t look up to the US in the first half but showed a lot more of their creative threat in the second. That one feels like a toss up with a slight edge towards Norway
@H1211857760@Steeeeeeeen1@sk_football1907 It’s definitely a plausible outcome. Egypt definitely better chance v Belgium because of how structured they are but wouldn’t be shocked at all to see them draw 1-1 or 0-0 v New Zealand. Despite salah and marmoush they’re not very fluid going forward
@sk_football1907 Egypt *can* by virtue of Belgium not being that strong but throughout the afcon, even in the Ivory Coast game, they struggle to create high quality chances.
A tough team to beat but would worry about their ceiling unless salah or marmoush really pull off some magic
@Jon_Mackenzie England’s Ro32 game against a 3rd place team would be Senegal/Norway in a mock bracket I ran but that changes to Uzbekistan/Congo if the team from that group makes it through
@Jon_Mackenzie You can narrow it down ~a bit~ by sorting for which 3rd place teams are most likely to get at least 3 points but beyond that it’s almost not worth sorting for anything aside from generals paths from finishing 1st or 2nd
