25 years ago today, at midnight on New Year's Day 02000: Prototype 1 of the 10,000-year clock, designed by Danny Hillis, began ticking — just in time to ring twice: once to say farewell to the old millennium, and once to ring in the new millennium.

and similarly, 50 years from now, people will not believe just how dangerous our cities were due to reckless driving and lack of safe road infrastructure
To ppl shouting about iPhones in the replies, I’d like to tell you about my 1yo son who is represented in this chart, who was crossing with his dad in a marked crosswalk, and never owned a phone. He died because of intersection design that prioritized cars and not people.
