For decades, Quincy Jones was music. From producing Thriller, to composing the score for The Color Purple, to working with Frank Sinatra to Ray Charles, it seemed like every big record – and every big film – had Quincy’s name on it.
His music appealed to listeners of every race and every age. And by building a career that took him from the streets of Chicago to the heights of Hollywood, Quincy paved the way for generations of Black executives to leave their mark on the entertainment business.
Michelle and I send our thoughts to Quincy’s friends, family, and everyone who has lived their lives to his songs.
I believe that the vast majority of people in this country are good and generous and honest and fair – and whether they are Democrats or Republicans or independents, they want those values reflected in their politics. That’s what we’ll get with @KamalaHarris and @Tim_Walz – two leaders who will work every day to make your lives better.
Finishing this week’s battleground tour in WISCONSIN today rallying voters for Harris-Walz in Milwaukee, Oshkosh, and headed to Madison.
Feeling hopeful as we head into Election Day tomorrow, but we must finish strong and talk to every voter we can!
WE’RE NOT GOING BACK!!! 🗣️
Weird to see Republican politicians claim to be “pro worker,” when in my state they:
Blocked every bill to raise our minimum wage from $7.25
Passed a $2 BILLION corporate tax cut
Enshrined “right to work” (for less) in the state constitution
They are definitively ANTI WORKER.
I’m trying to imagine life for women in TN under a Trump/Vance ticket w/Blackburn in the Senate. An admitted sexual predator, a guy who believes women should stay w/their abuser, and a woman who voted against the Violence Against Women Act in a forced birth state.
#Barbaric
@LakotaMan1 I’m totally with you on this. It’s one thing to be involved when doing this such has helping the poor, sick, low income people live better lives and it’s a totally different and dangerous thing to try and dictate those lives..
@EmansReviews That one actor can be the only person to play any particular character in an entire lifetime is a myth, and actually harmful one too. Jackman is great as the character, but he can’t play him for ever(age, physical demands).
@Ronin_Ken@EmansReviews Kind of sounds like it. I love a high Jackman as Wolverine as much as the next fan, but that’s mainly because he’s the first actor to play the character in movies .He can’t play it forever though, so recast is no problem is no problem for me.
It’s time to stop the Joe Biden doom loop.
President @JoeBiden has the integrity, moral character and record needed to beat Donald Trump in November.
