Baramulla Police Advises Media, Social Media Users Against Sharing Sensitive Security-Related Content
Warns Disclosure of Deployment Patterns, Escort Details and Tactical Procedures May Invite Legal Action
Baramulla, Jun 17: Baramulla Police on Wednesday issued an advisory for media persons, local news portals, social media handlers, freelance journalists and content creators, urging them to exercise caution while recording, publishing or circulating photographs and videos of police officers, security personnel, escorts, deployments and official movements.
According to the advisory issued by Police as per news agency JKNS, videos or photographs should not disclose or highlight security details of officers and protectees, deployment patterns and strength of security personnel, access control measures, frisking and evacuation procedures, vehicle formations, escort arrangements, route security measures, communication equipment, command positions or any tactical procedures.
Publication of such content without permission can compromise security, expose personnel to avoidable risk and assist hostile elements in analysing procedures, identifying weaknesses and planning adverse action.
Media coverage of public events and official programmes is welcome; however, it must be undertaken in a responsible manner and without compromising operational security. Prior permission should be obtained wherever recording of police/security arrangements or officers on duty is involved.
All concerned are advised to strictly adhere to this advisory. Any irresponsible publication or circulation of material prejudicial to security or public order may invite appropriate action under law. (JKNS)
1st Muharram - The Day of the Shahadah of 'Umar ibn al-Khattab رضي الله عنه
The leader of the believers, the defender of Islam, and the second Caliph of the Muslims. His justice shook tyrants, and his humility inspired generations.
May Allah be pleased with 'Umar ibn al-Khattab
رضي الله عنه and grant us the ability to follow his example in truth, justice, and steadfastness.

The sudden traffic surge in Srinagar this year especially Boulevard - Nishat route has a lot to do with tourists driving into the Valley instead of flights. Given the state of congested roads & Kashmir’s fragile environment caps on tourist cars must be introduced. Neither Kashmir’s streets nor can our ecology handle this huge rush. Hope the government takes note.
As we step in the new year. We recall the martyrdom of 2nd caliph of Islam. Hazrat Umar Al-Farooq (ra) . Regarding whom Prophet (saw) said "If there was a prophet to come after me. It would have been Umar ". Glorious tribute to Hazrat Umar Al-Farooq (ra).
It is totally shameful that a tourist named shahrukhjordi_ has made disrespectful and unacceptable remarks about our Kashmiri sisters and women. Such comments can never be accepted.
We warmly welcome tourists as our guests, and Kashmir has always been known for its hospitality. However, anyone who comes here must respect our culture, our values, and our women.
Making offensive statements and spreading stereotypes about Kashmiri women is deeply hurtful and unacceptable. If someone comes to Kashmir with such a mindset, they should stay at home rather than come to Kashmir. We do not need tourists who make such statements about our sisters.
We have great respect for the many tourists who visit Kashmir with love and respect, and they are always welcome. But those who come with disrespectful intentions or make degrading remarks about our sisters and mothers are not welcome. The honour and dignity of our women are far more important than tourism, and such behaviour will never be tolerated.
