The Portuguese Inquisition sat at Goa from 1560 to 1812. Its tribunal was the Santo Oficio and it had jurisdiction over converts, which in practice meant Hindus who had been made Catholic and were suspected of having stayed Hindu.

What it punished was ordinary life. Wearing a dhoti. Cooking rice without salt. Refusing to eat pork. Using Konkani at home. Keeping a tulsi plant.

The catalogue in the national archives lists 16,202 trials between 1560 and 1773. Estimates across the whole period run to ~18,000 trials, with 250 to 350 sentenced to death.

When the Inquisition was abolished in 1812 the Portuguese authorities burned the detailed proceedings. What survives is the index, not the record.

Omnia praesumuntur contra spoliatorem. They burned the files of their own tribunal, which tells you what was in them.

The equality of the vote that Pawan Khera invokes today was once suspended by a statute his party wrote. Congress has concluded that this Commission is captured since 2024. In May 2026 the same Commission, under the same CEC whose surname Khera cannot get right on camera, removed the LDF in Kerala and delivered 103 of 140 seats to his own alliance.
Either the capture is selective or the complaint is. He wants the country to know the roll must be sacred and simultaneously that verifying whether the names on it are citizens is an outrage.

In 1881 a farmer digging at Bakhshali, in what was then the North West Frontier and is now Pakistan, turned up 70 leaves of birch bark covered in mathematics. Sanskrit, written in Sharada script.

On those leaves the empty place in a numeral is marked with a dot. The dot is the ancestor of the zero every calculation on earth now runs on.

In 2017 the Bodleian Libraries at Oxford had 3 samples radiocarbon dated. They came back 224 to 383 CE, 680 to 779 CE and 885 to 993 CE. Oxford announced the earliest as the oldest recorded zero.

The dating is contested. Historians of Indian mathematics in the United States, France, Japan, New Zealand and Canada have disputed reading a composite manuscript by its earliest leaf.

Whichever date holds, the argument is about how many centuries India was ahead by. The manuscript went to Oxford in 1902 and is in Oxford still.

Madhava of Sangamagrama was born ~1340 at Irinjalakuda in what is now Kerala and died ~1425.

He worked out the infinite series expansions for the sine, the cosine and the arctangent. From the arctangent series he derived an infinite series for pi. Using it he computed pi correct to 13 decimal places.

That is the foundation of calculus, set down in south India ~250 to 300 years before Newton and Leibniz. The arctangent series was rediscovered in Europe by Leibniz ~1675.

Almost none of Madhava's own writing survives. The work is preserved because the school he founded kept citing him. Nilakantha Somayaji names him as the source of the series in the Tantrasangraha of ~1500. Jyesthadeva sets out the derivations in the Yuktibhasa, written in Malayalam, in the 16th century.

A mathematical tradition that ran for 200 years after its founder died, in one stretch of the Kerala coast.

Rahul Gandhy's thesis is that anti incumbency comes for every leader eventually. He is right. It came in October 2024 and took Haryana, where his own party was so certain of winning that the celebrations were booked in advance. It came again in November 2024 and handed Maharashtra 237 of 288 to the Mahayuti. It came to Delhi in February 2025 and ended a 27 year wait. It arrived in Bihar in November 2025 carrying 202 of 243 for the NDA. In May 2026 it reached West Bengal, a state the BJP had never governed.

It also turned up in Kerala in May 2026, removed the LDF and handed 103 of 140 seats to his own alliance. Same Commission. Same Gyanesh Kumar he now wants to resign and turn approver. The conspiracy apparently captured the rolls, fixed the machines and bought the officers, and then delivered the Congress a landslide out of sentiment. He has not offered to return a single seat of it. There is nothing quite so tolerable as a stolen election you are winning.

The Congress, after a full decade in opposition, with every institution declared captured and every election declared stolen, reached 99 in a House of 543. Its own alliance partners in Uttar Pradesh contested more seats than it won nationally. Notice also where the theft never seems to reach. The same rolls elect his own MPs. The same machines returned him from Rae Bareli. The same officers certified his nomination and administered his oath. A fraud precise enough to steal a national mandate and delicate enough to leave his own seat untouched is not a fraud at all. It is a preference, and it belongs to the voter.

The demand for an approver is the genuinely original contribution. An approver turns inside a prosecution. There is no FIR, no chargesheet, no investigation and no court seized of any of this. The verdict has been delivered and the search for a witness to fit it is now open. In criminal procedure that is unheard of. In his family's tradition it is close to house style, and the family that suspended the Constitution in 1975 and amended it to save a single election has now decided that the traitors are the people counting the votes.

Then the part he cannot argue with. 3 consecutive terms. Before PM Narendra Modi, exactly 1 Indian Prime Minister had managed that, and Rahul Gandhy is related to him.

400 paar was an aim, stated in public, and it fell short, which is the typical risk of saying out loud what you are trying to achieve. The alternative method is to lose 3 general elections in a row and hold a press conference about the machines.

44 seats in 2014. 52 in 2019. 99 in 2024. The machines in 2017. The judges after Rafale. The rolls in 2025. A slide deck about Mahadevapura. Now a leaked file note and a charge of treason. The costume changes every season, and the man inside it has still not won anything he did not inherit.

He is right that a fundamental force in this country spares nobody. It has now resisted him through 3 general elections and 5 states.

July 27, 2000. 11 landless labourers were hacked to death in a paddy field at Suchpur, under Nanoor police station in Birbhum.

The men who did it were CPI(M) cadre and the dispute was over land. It was carried out in daylight.

Police filed chargesheets against 82 accused in August 2001. The trial ran 8 years. In 2010 the sessions court convicted 44 men of the murders and sentenced every one of them to life.

44 convictions out of a single morning's work in a single field. That is the scale of what a party cadre did to labourers in a state it had governed for 23 years by then.

February 28, 1948. The CPI adopted what its own cadre still call the Calcutta Thesis.

The line came from Moscow. Andrei Zhdanov had split the world into 2 camps and the Indian party fell in behind him. 6 months after Independence the CPI called for armed insurrection against the Indian state. Risings followed in Telangana, Tripura and Travancore, against the government of a country that had been independent for less than a year.

The difference between the 3 cases is not the grief, it is that only 1 of them came with a statutory category attached. An invigilator stops a phone in an exam hall, which every invigilator is required to do, and 700 faculty watch what it costs him. Meanwhile 11 complaints of sexual harassment sit with an internal committee at JNU since May with no suspension, no dharna and no demand for a resignation. The people who claim to defend this draconian Act are hollowing it out faster than any opponent could.

Every National Security Adviser since 1998 has been unelected, and the office itself was created by Vajpayee Ji with Brajesh Mishra, who also held the Principal Secretary's post at the same time. Prithviraj Chavan's own party kept the arrangement for 10 years. M.K. Narayanan served the UPA from 2005 to 2010 and Shivshankar Menon from 2010 to 2014, both unelected, both reporting to the Prime Minister, both entirely acceptable at the time. If the office is unconstitutional today it was unconstitutional then, and Congress ran it for a decade without a word of objection. The rank question is even weaker, because a Cabinet rank is an administrative designation, not a seat in the Cabinet. Re: Doval Ji’s record, Congress has a specific problem. 26/11 happened under an unelected NSA of their appointment, and the reply was a dossier. After Uri came the strikes of September 2016, after Pulwama came Balakot, and after Pahalgam came Operation Sindoor. Chavan is free to argue that the Prime Minister relies too much on 1 adviser. He is not free to imply the results were better when his party picked the adviser, because the record of both decades is public and it is not even close.

Re: AMT, the problem is its genesis. Max Müller fixed the Rigveda at ~1200 BCE on assumptions he himself later abandoned, and later he wrote to his wife that showing us (Hindus) the root of our religion was "the only way of uprooting all that has sprung from it". That is in Life and Letters, Volume 1. Robert Caldwell (a missionary) gave the subcontinent its Aryan and Dravidian racial division in his Comparative Grammar of 1856. A dating built by a man who wanted the tradition uprooted and a racial division drafted by a missionary are not neutral scientific findings. They are the coloniser's frame. Re: the archaeological findings, is no destruction layer, no intrusive material culture, no mass graves, and no break in the weights, the brick ratios, the fire altars at Kalibangan or the water ritual (the “Great Bath” at Mohenjo daro). The Harappan decline tracks the drying of the Ghaggar Hakra system around 1900 BCE, and ~2 out of 3 Harappan sites sit along that system, which Bharatiya tradition knows as the Sarasvati. No Indian text remembers such arriving from anywhere. Vasant Shinde Ji and his colleagues sequenced a Harappan genome and found no Steppe pastoralist ancestry in it. The Iranian related component in that genome separates from West Asian farmers before farming itself, which means the Sarasvati valley civilisation was not built by migrants. The people who built India's first cities were from here. Anyone asserting that Bharat's civilisational core was imported has to establish it. Also, geography in the Rigveda moves west over time. Books 3, 6 and 7, the older layer, are set around the Ganga, Yamuna and Sarasvati, and the rivers and places of Afghanistan and the north west, the Rasa, the Gomati, the Kubha and the Krumu, arrive in the later books. The Anu and Druhyu tribes move out westward. That is the movement, and it runs from the interior to the frontier. That is direct textual evidence of out of India migration.
