• Convicted in the 2002 American Center terror attack in Kolkata, in which police personnel were killed.

• He was sentenced to death, with the Supreme Court later commuting the sentence to life imprisonment in 2014.

• Now, authorities have recovered 3 smartphones, including an iPhone, SIM cards, 2 Wi-Fi routers, wireless earphones, pen drives, card readers and ₹31,000 in cash from his cell.

• All of this was recovered inside Presidency Correctional Home, Kolkata, a prison under the West Bengal Government.
