Here's an example of those artificially inflated frames. Not that the actual emulator is remaining in the mid-40s, but it shoots up when I turn 120 FPS mode on.
PSA to anyone seeing this idiot's posts and thinking about picking up a Thor because of it: it absolutely does not run games better than a Switch 2. He's running the device way too hot and inflating his reports of the performance by a factor of 2-3x.
Decided to touch some grass today, got me thinking about The Ayn Thor is seriously making me rethink my whole entire gaming life right now.
This has serious potential to replace my Steam Deck on most cases.
This is a true Portable, you can just toss in your pocket no Carrying case required, no annoying Catridges to carry, It has all the benefits of a Steam Deck OLED except for Steam OS, Has been running every game I toss at it, even more demanding ones, performance has been on par or better than the Switch 2 on most games.
Battery life in insane, last me for like 9 to 10 hours on the the weekend, Customizing everything is easy.
Cheaper than a Switch 2 and Steam Deck OLED.
THIS THING IS INSANE!
The hype is real.
No wonder so many people chose to buy this instead of the Switch 2 last year.

The Thor is an absolutely fantastic device suited to emulation up through (and including) the Switch and for playing Steam indies and AAAs up to ~360 era (something like Dishonored is near the cutoff). The framerates in his posts are artificially increased by 120 FPS mode.
@TRIPSTER0 Also note my superior tinkering skills which allow me run games at relatively high settings and framerates without my device heating up to 80 fucking degrees Celsius lol
@TRIPSTER0 Okay, not quite doubled, but you can see the artificially inflated framecount in SaGa: Emerald Beyond, comparing the Thor's 60 and 120 FPS modes. Worth noting I have this set to 1.5x res, the Thor can run this game at 60. Regardless, @TRIPSTER0 is a lying cuck deceiving you all
@TRIPSTER0 For those keeping score at home:
The Thor is not cheaper than a S2, and will be getting another price hike soon. There is also no fucking way it runs Cyberpunk as well as S2 does. Source: I've had one for ~8 months. Amazing system but it struggles with anything past PS4 gen.
@balbnis Hate to say it but the post game is where all the best stuff is. No need to force yourself through it but do consider going back to it after some time has elapsed.
@Sakerift@weirded_beardo@NintyPrime Cherry pick some data about recent sales comparisons between the Switch 2 and PS5. Also cherry pick some data for their first-party line-ups through 2026 thus far.
@Omegawyrm76 They're different categories of disaster. Sony has painted themselves into a corner with a looming $1000+ box, lack of first-party direction, and alienating their core base with the death of physical. Xbox is in flames with leadership that doesn't know the industry.
@MrRobotsw@HeadshotCircuit@ivvanex Switch 2 has a much stronger first-party line up, and 99% of what can be played on PS can be played in better quality on PC. It's a totally pointless ecosystem to invest in, especially with a $1000+ console and the death of physical on the horizon.
